Rhino Sports & Entertainment Services, a division of REVELxp, is a premier event staffing company specializing in delivering exceptional guest experiences at collegiate and professional sporting events across the country. At Rhino Sports, we believe that every guest matters, and our team plays a crucial role in creating a safe, enjoyable, and memorable atmosphere at every event. 


These positions are Seasonal Part-time and event-based. 


Position Overview

As a Security Event Staff Member at Southern Methodist University (SMU), you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for all attendees, athletes, staff, and guests across a variety of SMU Athletics events. This includes home games for Football, Men's and Women's Basketball, Men's and Women's Soccer, and Women's Volleyball.


You will be stationed at key access points, crowd control zones, and other critical areas throughout the venue to monitor activity, enforce venue policies, and provide guidance to guests as needed. Whether you're checking credentials, assisting with crowd movement, or helping to resolve issues, your role is essential to a smooth and secure event experience.


This is a seasonal, part-time position, with the majority of shifts scheduled between August and March. In addition to working SMU events, team members may have opportunities to work external events throughout the Dallas area via Rhino's extended event network.


This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in venue operations, public safety, or event management while being a part of the exciting atmosphere of collegiate athletics.

Requirements

  • Must be18 years or older.
  • Prior experience in event security, guest services, or crowd management preferred
  • Strong situational awareness and ability to follow protocols
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and remain attentive throughout long shifts
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays during the event season (August-March)
  • Must be comfortable working outdoors and in varying weather conditions
  • FOR SECURITY POSITIONS: Have a current unarmed security license or be willing to go through the process to receive one.

Hourly Rate Starting at $14.00/hr for training and Customer Service work however working a Security role the pay rate is $16/hr.
