Safety Specialist- Columbus, Ohio-Mission Critical Construction

Role Description

Safety Specialist -Columbus, OH 12+ months project-construction of a Data Center

Provide onsite support Mon-Fri 8 hours a day / 40 hours a week mid-July

This is a 1099 contract $50 to $55 per hour and $500 travel/lodging per week allowance for days worked- based on living outside of a 75 mile radius. NO PER DIEM

Candidate must have Mission Critical Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in health & safety preferred
  • 5 - 10 years safety construction experience in data centers, if no degree
  • High Voltage experience preferred
  • NFPA 70E
  • Must be personable because you will be the eyes and ears on site of the GC for safety
  • Ability to fill out paperwork daily and timesheets weekly and should be technology savvy to do so
  • BCSP certificate preferred
  • Fluency in the local language, as well as proficiency in the English language (native or secondary).
  • In-depth knowledge of H&S standards and regulations for the identified country/region.
  • Competency in occupational H&S management systems (i.e. ISO 45001; OHSAS 18001).
  • Proven expertise in hazard risk assessment, safe method working statements, and post-incident root cause analysis.
  • Proven communication (written / spoken) skills capable of resulting in clear, concise, and comprehensive health and safety correspondence, both internally with Owner/Client, and externally to Project GC.
  • (need candidates that are ok remaining available for 4 weeks before start)
  • 7 years of datacenter experience
  • 10 years of experience if no datacenter experience
  • Higher level of polish here as they will mostly be working with project managers
  • Strong understanding of not only risk identification but risk ranking
  • Strong electrical safety understanding
  • NFPA 70E
  • Duration: 6-12 months with possible extension
  • Polished professional with leadership competencies required

Work hours would be full-time – Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day in Columbus. 40 hour work week, no OT
