As the HSE Advisor, you will be responsible for ensuring construction, installation and commissioning activities are executed safely and aligned with Baker Hughes' safety requirements.

As an Environmental Health & Safety Advisor - Health and Safety, you willbe responsible for:

  • Collaborating with the Project Manager on look-ahead plans and work scopes.

  • Following up on Management of Change (MOC) processes and actions.

  • Conducting new employee safety orientations.

  • Maintaining knowledge of Texas Environmental Regulations (Air, Waste, and Water).

  • Delivering toolbox talks and safety briefings.

  • Assisting in organizing project safety campaigns and awareness programs.

  • Verifying contractor and employee training records and certifications.

  • Conducting daily site safety inspections and observations.

  • Monitoring work activities to ensure compliance with company policies, client requirements, and regulatory standards.

  • Verifying the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

  • Assisting in enforcing safe work practices and stopping unsafe work when imminent danger exists.

  • Monitoring compliance with permit-to-work requirements, including - Hot Work, Confined Space Entry, Excavation and Trenching, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), working at Heights, Crane and Rigging Operations

  • Participating in Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Hazard Analysis reviews.

  • Identifying workplace hazards and recommending corrective actions.

  • Conducting pre-task safety reviews with work crews.

  • Assisting supervisors in implementing appropriate risk controls.

  • Reporting incidents, near misses, injuries, and environmental events promptly.

  • Participating in incident investigations and root cause analyses.

  • Preparing incident reports and tracking corrective actions through closure.

  • Maintaining accurate records of safety observations and safety statistics.

  • Performing routine inspections of: Work areas, Equipment and tools, Scaffolding, Fall protection systems, Excavations, Temporary facilities

  • Monitoring corrective actions and ensuring timely closure.

  • Monitoring housekeeping and waste management practices.

  • Assisting with environmental inspections and compliance activities.

  • Supporting spill prevention and response efforts.

  • Ensuring proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials.

  • Assisting in maintaining emergency response equipment.

  • Participating in emergency drills and exercises.

  • Supporting emergency response activities as directed.

  • Maintaining HSE files, reports, permits, and inspection records.

  • Submitting daily and weekly HSE reports.

  • Tracking leading indicators such as: Safety observations, Near misses, Training compliance, Inspection findings.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED).

  • Have a minimum of 3 additional years of experience in construction, installation, and commissioning activities.

  • Have at least 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing and repair shop environment.

  • Have at least 4 years of experience in Health, Safety & Environment (HSE).

  • Have fluency in both Spanish and English; bilingual proficiency is highly valued to effectively support clients and team members.

  • Have excellent problem-solving, process improvement, and analytical skills.

  • Have in-depth knowledge of Texas regulatory requirements and reporting systems.

  • Have a proven ability to build positive relationships and communicate effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders.

  • Have a collaborative mindset, with the ability to thrive in team environments while effectively leading and motivating others.
