Job description

The Production Manager has responsibility for the planning and execution of events and entertainment projects such as: corporate events (trade shows, exhibits, permanent installations, special events). Working with the Account Executive, the Production Manager will identify the opportunity team, and may make or participate in the sale or execute projects generated by another Account Executive or group. The Production Manager may prepare and define Scope of Work in collaboration with Account Executive and/or client, to include comprehensive budget (revenue and cost), project and labor schedule, workflow, internal resource requirements, concept designs and layouts, the determination of product/gear, construction, operational plans, production services and labor specifications. The work involves considerable client contact with an emphasis on providing project services tailormade to the client's vision, and the Production Manager is expected to provide excellent customer service both internally and externally throughout the project lifecycle.

Size and complexity of project assignments may vary based on level of experience as defined by Business Unit Leadership.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide ongoing project management to ensure project is delivered on time, on budget, and meeting client expectations.
  • Closely communicate stakeholders, including providing project updates, customer support, manage expectations, and provide clarity on any questions related to SOW, such as detailed exclusions and inclusions.
  • Working with the sales org and identify opportunities to capitalize on value-added expertise and non-core services.
  • Collaborate with customer, Account Executives, and internal resources to develop technology and design solutions for projects
  • Track project change orders to ensure appropriate approvals, and communicate changes to all impacted stakeholders
  • Managing integrity and accuracy of orders in the Asset Management System (AMS) throughout project lifecycle phase of each project as a daily function. Ensure equipment return dates, times and changes are accurate in AMS.
  • Closely monitor financial performance and ensure all financial metrics are up to date. Participate in month-end financial reconciliation.
  • Ability to communicate project status and financial performance at all times.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of project documentation to include; drawings, schedules, budgets, contracts, PO's, invoices, logistic documents, subcontractor agreements.
  • Timely communication of short turn scope adjustments to opportunity team
  • Coordinate all project logistics
  • Coordinate and track subcontractors
  • Determine project labor requirements, build labor schedule and track labor actuals in coordination with Crew Services
  • Interact with internal labor coordinators including booking of travel and per diem requirements
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of paperwork, timesheets and expenses related to show labor to all parties responsible
  • May be required to participate in client presentations
  • Manage and execute on-site production, including management of show labor.
  • Continuous management of client expectations throughout duration of project.
  • Promote job site safety and investigate all safety and reliability concerns. This is a safety sensitive position, a job or position where the employee holding this role has the responsibility for his/her own safety and the safety of other persons. An employee has to be alert and with clear mind and diligent while occupying such positions.
  • Lead project close-out process, including project reconciliation, post-show client deliverables, and client success management
  • May participate in continuous improvement projects and implementation of updated processes and procedures
  • Create and maintain a positive atmosphere for both customer and crew

Preferred education and experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education or experience.
  • Technical education and/or training in various product discipline(s)
  • 10+ years experience working in the entertainment industry (at least two years in a market appropriate to the position)
  • 5+ years of project management experience
  • 2+ years of staff management in a supervisory or event management role
  • Experience in alternative roles such as Account Executive or Technical Director
  • Experience of preparing and managing budgets.
  • Consistently promote safety culture on site
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce, and asset management system

The pay range for this position is estimated to be $100,000-115,000. Actual salary to be determined by the experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant combined with location and alignment with market data. Additionally, we offer comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement savings plan with matching contributions.
