Event Planner
Cliff House Maine is seeking an Event Planner to support taking it's event operations.
Starting Salary: $60,000 - $75,000
Job Summary:
Lead the planning process while working with an office support team, delivering outstanding guest service across multiple event venues at the resort. Success in this role calls for strong leadership ability, a strategic outlook, strong cross-functional relationship-building, and authentic enthusiasm for creating standout catering and event experiences from initial sale through flawless execution.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage contracts to own the entire planning process once sales has finalized the booking, ensuring every deliverable is met on time and in full compliance with agreed terms.
  • Plan events based on contract parameters, resort standards, and guest vision, adapting quickly to a fast-paced, high-volume environment across multiple venues and event spaces.
  • Work closely with the Events Chef, Banquet Director, set-up team, and all resort operations and finance departments to craft menus and ensure a seamless handoff from initial sale through flawless execution.
  • Serve as the central point of coordination across sales, culinary, set-up, service operations, front desk, valet, and restaurant teams anticipating needs, resolving details proactively, and maintaining strong multi-functional internal relationships to guarantee every event exceeds client expectations.
  • Lead and attend recurring meetings central to the planning process, including daily events meetings, packet and resume reviews, and billing reviews.
  • Identify, coordinate, and manage third-party vendors and outside resources (rentals, entertainment, dรฉcor, transportation, etc.), ensuring quality, reliability, and alignment with client and resort standards.
  • Lead, coach, and motivate a team of event professionals, instilling a client-first mindset and holding performance to the highest standard.
  • Conduct walk-throughs, tastings, and planning sessions with prospective and confirmed clients to review space, layout, and logistics across relevant venues.
  • Own every event assigned to you from pre-planning through day-of execution, follow-up, and future rebooking, delivering consistent, relationship-driven service that builds long-term client trust.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5 years experience in planning events, specializing in weddings, and a strong track record of client satisfaction.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills
  • Proven ability to plan and execute events across multiple venues simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with colleagues, guests, and third-party vendors, with a genuine commitment to service excellence.
  • Demonstrated success working cross-functionally with sales, culinary, set-up, and service operations teams.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Highly organized and detail-focused, with the ability to juggle multiple projects at once without sacrificing quality.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce and/or Delphi CRM platforms.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, as events require
