Job description

Oak View Group (OVG) is the global leader in premium live entertainment infrastructure and services, with a platform spanning venue development and end-to-end capabilities across venue management, hospitality, and sponsorship sales. Founded in 2015, the company serves a collection of seven world-class owned venues and a client roster of the most iconic arenas, stadiums, convention centers, music festivals, performing arts centers, and cultural institutions, spanning four continents. 


Under direct supervision from an Event Services Supervisor, Event Setup Housemen perform event setup and teardown, housekeeping, and light maintenance tasks as assigned. 

This role pays an hourly rate of $14.00-$16.00

The Waterloo Convention Center opened as the Conway Civic Center in the 1970s. A hotel and parking ramp were connected to the facility via skywalk in the 1980’s. In 1987 the center was rededicated and named in honor of Waterloo’s own 5 Sullivan Brothers. In 2021, as a part of a multi-million dollar transformation to meet the needs of today’s event planner, the center was renamed the Waterloo Convention Center, reflecting pride in the community and the transformation of the center.


  • Sets up tables, chairs, staging, dance floors, and other equipment according to the room diagrams and event resumes
  • Tears down equipment and supplies after events are over
  • Maintains cleanliness in the event spaces, including hallways and other common areas
  • Keeps service corridors and storage areas clean, organized, and unobstructed
  • Empties trash and operates various types of cleaning equipment
  • Reads and understands room diagrams and event resumes in order to set event spaces accordingly
  • Interacts with other staff and event planners, and responds quickly to needs and requests
  • Other duties as assigned by management

  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent GED
  • Must be able to read and understand room diagrams and event resumes
  • Must be available to work flexible hours and days including early morning, days, evenings, overnight, weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time and lift heavy objects
  • Previous experience with event changovers/setup a plus
