Position Description
Are you a skilled physician ready to lead and oversee comprehensive medical services in a dynamic behavioral healthcare environment? Recovery Solutions is seeking a Medical Services Director to provide clinical leadership and ensure high-quality, patient-centered medical care for youth receiving residential treatment at South Carolina Byars Treatment Center (PRTF).
SC Byars Treatment Center provides 24-hour trauma-informed residential treatment for youth with complex behavioral health needs, with a focus on stabilization, recovery, skill development, and successful transition back to home and community settings. As Medical Services Director, you will play a critical role in ensuring the medical needs of the individuals we serve are effectively assessed, coordinated, and addressed.
What You'll Do
  • Direct and manage general medical care at the site, including assessments, treatment, and ongoing monitoring.
  • Serve as the primary care physician and provide individualized care sensitive to each person's needs.
  • Be available or arrange for 24/7 on-call medical services.
  • Review and reevaluate individuals requiring ongoing care or consultative services and coordinate treatment planning.
  • Participate in utilization management initiatives, including compliance with pharmaceutical formulary and specialty referral processes.
  • Coordinate with the Administrator to designate continuing care facilities and specialty providers, making referrals as medically necessary.
  • Perform minor procedures such as sutures, incisions, drainages, IV placements, proctoscopies, and superficial needle aspirations as needed.
What We're Looking For
  • Education: MD or DO degree from an accredited university (required).
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 2 years providing medical care (required).
    • Administrative experience (preferred).
  • Licenses/Certifications:
    • Licensed to practice in the state of South Carolina (required).
    • Board certified or eligible in family medicine or other primary care specialty (required).
    • DEA licensure (required).
