Job Summary
Family Weekend Student Event Staff play a critical role in shaping the Family Weekend experience at the University of Kentucky for our students and their family members. Student event staff play a key role in facilitating events during UK's Family Weekend, September 25-27, 2026. Student Event Staff may assist with the check-in process, set up and break down events, take event attendance, manage giveaways, answer phone calls and emails from students and families, assist with placing signage around campus, serve as event hosts, and more.
Family Weekend Student Event Staff training will take place in the fall and will include virtual and in-person trainings. Student Event Staff with a current driver's license will be eligible to complete golf cart training and may have the opportunity to drive a golf cart around campus during Family Weekend to assist with events.
Family Weekend Student Event Staff must be available to work Friday, September 25 - Sunday, September 27 (8 hours per day). Additional opportunities for work hours may also be available based on your schedule. For example, Event Staff can pick up some extra hours by preparing registration bags prior to Family Weekend.

  • Working knowledge of campus and campus buildings

Expectations
  • Must commit to attending and participating in virtual and in-person trainings (Fall 2026)
  • Must commit to working at least 24 hours during Family Weekend (September 25-27, 2026)
