Event Staffing Coordinator for Will Rogers Memorial Center

Gendy Street Management Corp (GSMC) - This position is to support our Will Rogers Memorial Center operation.

Job Summary:

Gendy Street Management Corp (GSMC) is looking for an Event Staff Coordinator for the Will Rogers Memorial Center (WRMC). This position will be responsible for organizing and supervising the successful implementation and operation of Event Security and Guest Services. This Coordinator will manage the Event Security and Guest Services staff.

This position will be 100% on-site.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Oversee scheduling of Guest Services and Event Security staff for all events at Will Rogers.
  • Oversee the recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training of Event Staff personnel.
  • Maintain an efficient recruitment, interview, and hiring system with Human Resources.
  • Update all Guest Services and Event Security materials to include daily event information sheets, information binders, staff forms, post orders, department handbook, etc.
  • Aid in developing staff training programs and materials as well as assist in training all Event Staff personnel, including Level II Training.
  • Submit payroll reports and liaise with Finance Department to ensure personnel are paid accurately.
  • Oversee staffing levels and manage staffing issues in coordination with the Security & Guest Services Manager.
  • Manage Guest Services & Event Security uniform distribution/collection plan and inventory.
  • Implement and enforce Gendy Street Management Corp.s policies and procedures.
  • Assist in annual performance reviews of all part-time event security & guest services personnel.
  • Assist other departments including but not limited to Executive, Parking, Security, Food & Beverage, Engineering, Event, Sales, Marketing from time to time when necessary for the benefit of specific Events or overall Operation
  • Research and implement industry trends and best practices to continually improve standards at Will Rogers.
  • Attend trainings, conferences and/or seminars when appropriate.
  • Work closely with Marketing personnel to provide resources and coordinate event operations to meet the needs of sponsors and various promotional initiatives
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited four-year university in Public Safety, Security, hospitality management, public relations, business administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a large facility guest experience/operations department, preferably in major league sports or entertainment.
  • State of Texas Level II Security license or ability to obtain.
  • Working knowledge of a time and attendance system is strongly recommended.
  • Ability to respond and provide information to staff and public inquiries in a courteous manner.
  • Good communication (written and verbal), problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Keyboarding skills and computer proficiency with software knowledge of MS Office products.
  • Sensitivity and responsiveness to cultural, ethnic, age, and other groups, enabling one to better anticipate needs and desires of a wide range of employees and guests.
  • Working knowledge of American Sign Language and/or bilingual is a plus.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Able to communicate effectively with management, guests, and team members.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.

Working Conditions:

  • Employees will work in an environment with fluctuating temperatures.
  • Employees must have the ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. As business, maintenance, operations, or emergencies require, employees may sporadically assist in lift/move 100 lbs. or more.
  • Employees will regularly work around animals typically found in a fair/4H/FFA environment (horses, cattle, pigs, sheep, dogs, etc.).
  • Employees will regularly spend their shift standing/walking, traveling stairs, with limited to no sitting.
  • Employees may spend some of their day working on a computer and other office devices.
  • Employees will be exposed to high noise levels and/or fluctuating lights in event settings.
  • Employees must have the ability to reach, lift, and bend to perform job duties throughout the shift.
  • Employees will be exposed to hazardous chemicals, electrical shock risks, and vibrations throughout the shift.
  • Employees may be exposed to hazards associated with moving vehicles and require strict adherence to safety protocols.
