Description:

The Donation Attendant provides donors with exceptional customer service while helping them deliver donated items. Promotes Goodwill Northern Michigan, and donor loyalty. Maintains organization of donation door area and upkeep of salvage.


Essential Functions:

  1. Greets donors at donation door and unloads donated goods from vehicle.
  2. Operate forklift, pallet jack, compactor.
  3. Set up and take down gaylord/pallets.
  4. Safely operate overhead doors.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Support the mission and vision of Goodwill Industries of Northern Michigan.
  2. Perform work in a safe manner by observing all Goodwill safety policies and procedures.
  3. Interact with all Goodwill team members, clients, and customers in a professional manner.
  4. Respect the diversity of others, including but not limited to, those with cultural, ethnic, and gender differences, individuals experiencing homelessness, and persons with visible and non-visible disabilities.
  5. Greet donors at their vehicle in the donation drive up.
  6. Maintain excellent customer relations at all times.
  7. Unload donated goods from donor’s vehicles.
  8. Handle donations in an appropriate and safe manner.
  9. Handle multiple donors at the same time.
  10. Offer donors donation vouchers.
  11. Thank donors for donating to GINMI.
  12. Assist in processing donated goods as needed, sort goods as required.
  13. Assist in maintaining essential supplies and equipment to production stations.
  14. Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times.
  15. Work independently, remain focused and follow through, as well as work as part of a team.
  16. Ability to be flexible in a multi-duty environment.
  17. Assist as needed in transporting large items to and from the sales floor.
  18. Other duties as assigned by manager.
Requirements:
  1. Some high school preferred.
  2. Ability to be trained to operate forklift and trash compactor is required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  1. Self-motivated.
  2. Ability to work independently.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Standing, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, reaching, walking, hearing, seeing, twisting and turning.
  2. Use of pallet jack.
