Job description

What you'll do:

  • Review BEOs and connect with the Banquet Manager/Captain for menu details and special instructions
  • Ensure event space is set up and the correct equipment is in place as required
  • Assist in event preparation by setting up tables, place settings, buffets, bar supplies, etc.
  • Greet all guests in close proximity and make each feel important by providing a genuine welcome
  • Prepare and serve beverages during the event; check guests' identification to verify minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages
  • Maintain open communication with kitchen staff, informing them immediately of any requested changes
  • Serve guests in a warm, courteous, professional, and efficient manner and always follow up on any requests
  • Ensure quality and presentation of food after serving and see to each guest’s special needs, including any allergies or dietary restrictions
  • Promptly and quietly remove dirty dishes from tables as guests finish courses and take them to the dish room for cleaning
  • Clean up after the event: re-set tables, return any equipment, sweep, mop, etc. as needed
  • Ensure immediate response is given to guest comments and concerns; inform immediate supervisor and apply corrective measures when necessary
  • Ensure open lines of communication with all departments and management via email, logbooks,
    meetings, etc. to ensure all needs of the outlet are met

Who you are:

  • 6+ months of related experience in the hospitality or service industry preferred
  • State-issued food handling + beverage certifications as required
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and
    procedure manuals
  • Ability to speak effectively after guests and groups of co-workers
  • Ability to navigate and operate computer and Point of Sale (POS) systems
