Position Overview
We are hiring an
Experienced Drain Technician / Plumber to run weekend service calls from
9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with weekday evening on-call availability from
5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and the possibility of occasional late-night calls.
This role offers:
- High weekend earning potential
- Guaranteed weekday on-call pay
- Additional income through sales commissions
- No required overnight shifts

Compensation
Weekend Pay (Saturday & Sunday, 9 AM - 5 PM)
- $35 - $45/hr (based on experience)
Weekday Evening & Occasional Late-Night On-Call
- $25/day guaranteed On-Call Pay (paid with or without calls)
- $42 - $52/hr if dispatched
- Occasional late-night calls possible (paid at same hourly rate)
Additional Earning Potential
- Sales Commissions on approved work performed or sold

Expected Annual Earnings
Experienced techs in this role generally earn:
$70,000 - $130,000+ per year (hourly + on-call + commissions)
Responsibilities
Weekend Responsibilities (9:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
- Run residential drain and plumbing service calls independently
- Operate drain cleaning equipment including:
- Hand snakes
- Powered snakes
- RIDGID drain machines
- Sewer inspection cameras
- Locator tools
- Light hydro-jetting for small/interior lines
- Diagnose sewer/drain issues using camera and locator
- Perform basic plumbing repairs:
- Traps
- Toilet resets
- Garbage disposals
- Minor leak repairs
- Conduct whole-home plumbing inspections
- Present multiple repair and replacement options using the Mr. Rooter process
- Document all work using the company iPad
Weekday Evening On-Call (5:00 PM - 9:00 PM)
- Be available for service calls
- Receive $25/day guaranteed
- Paid hourly if dispatched
- Occasional late-night calls may occur (paid at the same rate)
- No scheduled overnight shifts
Required Experience
Must Have:
- 2+ years of residential and some commercial drain cleaning experience
- Ability to confidently use:
- • Manual and powered snakes
- • RIDGID drain machines
- • Sewer cameras
- • Locator equipment
- • Light hydro-jetting
- Ability to independently complete service calls and sell solutions
- Strong communication skills with homeowners
- Valid driver's license and insurable MVR
- Ability to lift more than 50 lbs
- Ability to work in basements, crawlspaces, and confined areas
Preferred but Not Required:
- Hydro-jetting larger exterior sewer lines
- Experience with cast iron, clay, terracotta, and PVC systems
- Minor plumbing repair background
- Flat-rate or franchise service model experience
