Job description

Field Application Engineer Opportunity

Dapster is looking for a Field Application Engineer to join our small-but-powerful team. This is an impact opportunity -- we're very much still an early-stage startup, and you will be working on our foundational technology and products.

About Dapster: Dapster is focused on bringing AI-fueled robotic picking solutions to market. We recently landed a large pilot with a top retailer -- effectively dilution-free funding to develop our core technology.

If you want to do interesting work with a sharp, experienced and humble team, and share in the upside that comes with joining at the earliest stages, we'd love to talk to you. The quick details:

What will you do? Manage Dapster operations onsite at our client site in Phoenix, operating robots and working closely with our engineering team to implement tests and changes.

What are we looking for?

  • Strong engineering mindset, demonstrated by either a degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields, or relevant experience and activities.
  • 3+ years experience in a technical role, such as application engineering, technical support, or related positions.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Customer-focused mindset.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Other nice-to-have's:

  • Prior experience with robotic products and solutions such as robotic arms and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs).
  • Familiarity with warehouse operations and experience working with warehouse staff.

We maintain a development lab in Palo Alto, CA, and occasionally travel to and work at client sites (mainly Phoenix, AZ). Note: this role will be based in Phoenix, AZ. In general, Dapster is a remote-friendly, hybrid workplace. Roles requiring interaction with our physical robots likely entail more in-office work than not. Other roles can be structured to your preferences.
