Quality Control Line Inspector


Location: Wharton, NJ
Employment Type: Direct Hire

Shifts Available:
  • 1st Shift (7:00 AM to 3:00 PM): $21.00/hour
  • 2nd Shift (3:00 PM to 11:00 PM): $23.00/hour
  • 3rd Shift (11:00 PM to 7:00 AM): $23.00/hour
Position Summary

ZING is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Line Inspector to perform in-process inspections on manufacturing and packaging lines to ensure cosmetic and OTC drug products are produced in compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), internal quality standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine in-process inspections on filling, labeling, and packaging lines.
  • Verify line clearance prior to production start-up.
  • Inspect fill levels, container integrity, labeling accuracy, and product coding.
  • Identify and report defects such as leaks, mislabels, contamination, or damaged packaging.
  • Ensure compliance with cGMP requirements, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality standards.
  • Complete inspection logs, batch records, and deviation documentation accurately.
  • Escalate quality concerns and support investigations of non-conforming products.
  • Conduct line clearance activities during product changeovers.
  • Verify the correct labels, cartons, containers, and packaging components are being used.
  • Confirm proper material reconciliation.
  • Collect in-process samples according to established sampling plans.
  • Perform visual inspections and basic quality checks.
  • Submit samples to the Quality Control laboratory as required.
  • Review batch documentation to ensure compliance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP/ALCOA+).
  • Collaborate with Production, Quality Assurance, and Warehouse teams.
  • Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree preferred.
  • 1+ year of experience in cosmetic, pharmaceutical, OTC, or other regulated manufacturing quality inspection.
  • Experience working in an FDA-regulated manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Working knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
  • Familiarity with FDA regulations, including 21 CFR Parts 210 and 211, is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
  • Effective communication and problem escalation skills.
  • Basic math and inspection skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to perform visual inspections throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or alternate shifts as needed.

  • Manufacturing environment requiring appropriate PPE.
  • Standing for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Shift work, overtime, and weekend work may be required.
