Job description

A Pokers Dealer operates casino poker games by managing bets, dealing cards, and ensuring adherence to gaming regulations while providing exceptional customer service. They take in bets on losing and pay winning bets and monitor for cheating. 

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Prior poker dealer experience
  • High School Diploma/GED preferred.
  • Prior tournament dealing experience preferred.
  • Must be able to perform basic mathematical functions and pass math assessment. 
  • Must be able to obtain & maintain an active Illinois Gaming License.
  • Excellent guest service and communication skills.
  • Must be able to work in areas containing dust, varying noise and temperature levels, lighting, vibrations, crowds and air quality.
  • Must always present a professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Always display a high level of confidentiality and integrity.
  • Capacity to work well with others and handle stressful situations with ease.
  • Possess effective learning skills.
  • Requires prolonged sitting; reaching from a sitting position of approximately forty-eight (48) inches across the table, left, center, right; eye/hand coordination and manual dexterity necessary to handle cards, chips and currency
  • Ascend and descend stairs and maintain equilibrium for an extended period
  • Must be able to work from a standing position and/or walking motion for extended period.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an Illinois Gaming license.

Salary Range: $9.00 per hour plus pooled tips (Depending on Experience)

  • Utilize the highest degree of technical skill in dealing the game, providing prompt, accurate and courteous service to playing guest, in accordance with the Internal Control approved submission.

  • Converse with guests; the length and content would be determined by good judgment and common sense while maintaining a proper pace of the game using a positive, professional attitude.

  • Notify Poker Floorperson of any irregularities in guest play and transactions during the shift.

  • Perform all tasks that may be assigned in the future

  • Exchange currency for chips, compute winnings/losses, and accurately settle bets. 

  • Monitor table activity for cheating or irregularities and report issues to the Pit Supervisor. 

  • Explain game rules and procedures to guests. 

  • Other duties as assigned.
