Job description

Ventura’s Offshore Cafe in Northfield, NJ is seeking an energetic, reliable, and hands-on Restaurant Manager to oversee daily front-of-house operations in a fast-paced dining environment. This role requires strong leadership, exceptional customer service, strict cash-handling compliance, and complete accountability for evening restaurant closures.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational & Staff Leadership: Direct, support, and motivate front-of-house team members during shifts to ensure efficient, friendly, and high-quality guest service.
  • Closing & POS Systems Management: Oversee nightly restaurant shutdown routines, perform accurately balanced cash counts, and conduct end-of-day financial reconciliation using both Toast POS and AccuPos systems.
  • Guest Relations: Maintain a welcoming atmosphere, engage with patrons, and resolve customer feedback or complaints in a warm, professional manner.
  • Safety & Security: Ensure proper store lockup, secure cash drop protocols, and maintain safety and health standards across shift hours.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience: Previous management or supervisory experience in a high-volume restaurant setting preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating POS software; direct experience with Toast POS and/or AccuPos is a major plus.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, move quickly throughout a high-volume dining floor, and lift/carry items up to 40 lbs as needed.
  • Mental Resilience: Strong problem-solving abilities, high emotional intelligence, composure under pressure, and clear communication skills during peak service hours.
  • Transportation: Must possess reliable personal transportation to handle late-night shifts and closing responsibilities.
