Job description

HSE Advisor - Offshore Job Summary Join our team as an HSE Advisor - Offshore and become a vital champion of safety, efficiency, and reliability in offshore operations. In this role, you will lead the implementation of Task Processes and safety tools, ensuring rigorous adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards. Your proactive engagement and visible leadership will support a culture of safety excellence across rig operations, making a tangible impact on crew well-being and operational success. Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external HSE audits onboard, including ISM, regulatory, and client inspections.
  • Maintain expertise in relevant client and regulatory requirements affecting rig operations.
  • Complete monthly rig verifications to ensure compliance with core HSE standards.
  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) and coach in the Task Process, demonstrating active leadership and empowering onboard management and crews.
  • Support and promote Start Safe HSE programs and initiatives.
  • Maintain proficiency in the Management System, including HSEQ directives, Life Saving Rules, Major Accident Hazard Management, and Environmental Reporting.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance tasks such as inspections of fall protection equipment, portable ladders, and gas detectors.
  • Recommend improvement plans based on audit trends, safety reports, and investigations.
  • Collaborate with onboard management to identify opportunities for continuous HSE improvement.
  • Lead or support HSE event investigations and share industry best practices, lessons learned, and safety alerts.
  • Support the implementation and sustainability of the STAR Program, emphasizing engaged safety conversations and drills.
  • Develop, execute, and monitor rig-specific HSE plans in collaboration with the rig management team.
  • Promote a culture of safety through lessons learned from external audits and proactive communication.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years' offshore experience in HSE or 10 years' onshore HSE experience outside the drilling industry.
  • Qualified in incident investigation and root cause analysis.
  • Knowledge of industry initiatives such as IADC and DROPS, and understanding of applicable HSE regulations and client requirements.
  • Familiarity with Flag and Coastal State regulations (e.g., ISM, IMO).
  • Holds a NEBOSH International General Certificate in OH&S or equivalent HSE certification.
  • Minimum of 5 years in offshore or onshore industry with demonstrated governance and leadership capabilities.
  • Valid BOSIET and offshore survival training, with additional certifications as required.
  • Higher education in HSE, Engineering, or Risk Management is preferred.
