What is the difference between Evening New Grad Rn Mgh vs Evening New Grad Rn Brigham and Women's Hospital?

AspectEvening New Grad Rn MghEvening New Grad Rn Brigham and Women's Hospital
CredentialsRegistered Nurse (RN), New Grad CertificationRegistered Nurse (RN), New Grad Certification
Work EnvironmentMedical-surgical units, general patient careMedical-surgical units, women's health, specialized units
Employer & IndustryMassachusetts General Hospital, general hospital settingBrigham and Women's Hospital, academic medical center

The main difference lies in the hospital setting and patient focus. MGH offers a broader medical-surgical experience, while Brigham and Women's emphasizes women's health and specialized care. Both roles require similar credentials and are part of top-tier Boston hospitals, but the work environment and patient populations differ slightly.

Why can't I find a job as a new grad registered nurse in medical-surgical (med-surg) units?

New graduate registered nurses often face challenges securing med-surg positions due to high competition, limited entry-level openings, and the preference for candidates with some clinical experience or certifications like BLS. Hospitals may prioritize experienced nurses or require additional training, making it essential for new grads to demonstrate strong clinical skills and flexibility in scheduling.
