Bolongo Bay Beach Resort is located on the serene island of St. Thomas in the United States Virgin Islands and is a family-owned and managed beach resort nestled in a beautiful sandy bay along the Caribbean Sea. Known for our famous all-inclusive package, friendly hospitality, exciting experiences and one-of-a-kind guest amenities, there's no better place to see life in the Virgin Islands than at Bolongo Bay. Our small, fun, lively and personable atmosphere allows us to offer a guest and employee experience that is unlike any other big all-inclusive resort and it's what makes us so unique and popular to this day. We are currently the only all-inclusive resort in the U.S. Virgin Islands. To be eligible for this position, candidates must either reside on St. Thomas or be able to relocate before the start date.

Position Purpose

Bolongo Bay Beach Resort is seeking AM Server. As a Restaurant Server, you will be responsible for greeting all patrons and providing information about items on the menu including specials and recommendations. Serve any drinks ordered. Properly bill patrons for anything consumed.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Set tables prior to the arrival of Patrons
• Clear, clean and set up tables after Patrons leave
• Knowledge of specialty cocktails and cocktail terms (i.e. neat, on the rocks)
• Make sure work space is always clean ad free of debris
• Greet guests cordially, smile! Always thank them as they leave
• Knowledge of menu and its ingredients
• Knowledge of the specials of the day/evening
• Adhere to proper service standards
• Take customer orders and communicate them accurately to the kitchen and bar
• Follow cash handling policies
• Perform scheduled and assigned Side Work at end and beginning of every shift

Qualifications

• 1 year of serving experience, preferred
• High School or equivalent education required
• Basic Math Skills
• Strong communication and people skills
• Good organizational and multi-tasking abilities
• Customer service oriented
• Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships
• Ability to stand, lift and walk for extended periods of time

License/Certification:

• Food Handler (Required)

Pay: $9.00 per hour plus guaranteed gratuity of 15%.

Shift:

• In-Person
• AM Shift
• Day Shift
• This position will have 3-4 shifts per week from the hours of 6:30 am - 2:30 pm OR 8:00 am – 4:00 pm.
