Job Summary:
The Evening Supervisor oversees all evening operations for both Patient Transport and Radiology departments, ensuring safe, timely, and efficient patient movement throughout the hospital.
Responsibilities:
  • Oversees all evening operations for both Transport and Radiology, ensuring safe, timely, and efficient patient movement throughout the hospital.
  • Monitors workflow, patient transport requests, and radiology schedules to minimize delays and maintain smooth departmental throughput.
  • Provides on-site leadership for transporters and radiology support staff, including assigning duties, conducting shift huddles, and communicating priorities.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for nursing units, the Emergency Department, radiology technologists, and other clinical teams during evening hours.
  • Troubleshoots operational issues, resolves workflow bottlenecks, and addresses service delays to maintain efficient patient flow.
  • Ensures adherence to patient safety standards, including infection control practices, equipment safety, and proper patient identification protocols.
  • Coordinates urgent or time-sensitive cases and collaborates with clinical teams to support patient care needs.
  • Responds to patient or family concerns during the evening shift and escalates issues appropriately.
  • Documents shift activities, incidents, staffing concerns, and throughput metrics to support departmental reporting and communication.
  • Supports staff development through coaching, performance monitoring, and participation in training and competency activities.
  • Assists with quality improvement initiatives, workflow optimization, and departmental process enhancements.
  • Helps maintain equipment inventory, coordinates maintenance needs, and ensures compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a Radiologic Technologist
  • ARRT Credentials required
  • NYS Radiology license required
