In this role, you will work with a trusted and reputable team that has a history of success connecting individuals and their families with person-centered, recovery-oriented services and support.

Job Summary Therapists within our Forensic and Psychological Services team provide mental health and substance abuse evaluation, psychiatric screening, crisis intervention, treatment and case management services to incarcerated adults at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.

In this role, you will: Provide mental health and substance abuse assessments and interventions to incarcerated individuals in individual and group settings. Work as a part of a multidisciplinary team to include medical staff, correctional staff, and other service providers. Lead crisis intervention and stabilization, interagency consultation, and coordinate treatment services.

Complete and maintain all clinical records and documentation in compliance with federal, state, and agency policies and procedures. MHSADS places a high priority on professional training and career development. Our therapists are supported in efforts to learn and utilize effective, person-centered, trauma-informed, evidence-based interventions.

Therapists are given opportunities and supervision to obtain and maintain professional licensure. Therapists also receive training and supervision for certification as Certified Preadmission Screening Clinicians (CPASC) with the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS). Minimum Qualifications Master's degree; license eligible within one (1) year of hire or possess professional licensure through the VA Department of Health Professions Board as a: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW); Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC); Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT); Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP).

One (1) year of professional experience working with individuals who have a mental health and/or substance use diagnosis, which may include internship experience. Preferred Qualifications: Comprehensive clinical skills in crisis intervention and stabilization as well as individual and group treatment. Prior experience working with an inmate population in a correctional setting.

Dedication to fully contributing as a member of a clinical team working within fast-paced and often unpredictable environments. Advanced organizational skills. Must be fitted for N-95 (or similar) mask to safely provide on-site services as needed. Employment is contingent upon successfully passing pre-employment background check to include fingerprinting, credit, NCIC, DMV, and TB test. Must have a good driving record and a valid driver's license in Virginia or regional state of residence.
