Job Title: Youth Flag Football (Boys & Girls League) Referee
Location: Rendezvous Park, 1055 32nd Ave W, West Fargo, ND 58078

The West Fargo Park District is seeking enthusiastic and knowledgeable individuals to officiate youth flag football games. If you have a passion for football, a good understanding of the game's rules, and enjoy working with young athletes, this is an excellent opportunity for you!
Position Overview
As a Youth Flag Football (Boys & Girls League) Referee, you will play a key role in ensuring fair and enjoyable games for players, coaches, and spectators. You will be responsible for enforcing rules, recognizing penalties, and confidently making calls on the field.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
  • Officiate Games: Oversee K-8th grade youth flag football games and enforce rules to maintain fair play.
  • Identify Penalties: Recognize and call penalties during games as needed.
  • Ensure Game Flow: Facilitate a smooth and timely flow of each game.
  • Communicate Effectively: Interact confidently with coaches, players, and parents, ensuring respect and professionalism on the field.
  • Game Schedule: Officiate games on Monday, Tuesday, and/or Thursday evenings for time slots at 5:30 pm and 6:50 pm, with 2-9 games a week depending on the schedule.

Work Schedule
This seasonal role runs from August 3-September 24. You must be available for evening games, with flexibility around which evenings you can work.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must have experience playing or officiating football.
  • Strong understanding of football rules and penalty recognition.
  • Confidence in making calls and enforcing rules.
  • Comfortable dealing with parents and coaches in a professional manner.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain focus in a dynamic environment.
  • Show up on time to ref games.
