Job description

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the Engineering and design of Electrical, Lighting and Special Systems for new and existing facilities. The candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as experience communicating results with clients.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The responsibilities listed are fundamental to the position and must be performed successfully to achieve the key performance objectives of the role. Other responsibilities may be assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Professional Engineer License.
  • Develop Engineering scope documentation.
  • Develop Engineering effort hour estimates.
  • Develop Engineering schedules.
  • Lead interface with clients both internal and external.
  • Lead Engineering and Design groups through project execution.
  • Maintain, track and predict project cost and schedule.
  • Strong communications skills, verbal and written.
  • Develop and update project specifications and scope of work.
  • Proficient at the development of required documentation at all levels of project execution.
  • Proficient at performing lighting calculations and lighting fixture selection.
  • Proficient at electrical equipment selection, layout and circuiting.
  • Proficient at electrical loading calculations.
  • Proficient at Short Circuit, Coordination and Arc Flash calculations.
  • Proficient with the National Electric Code.
  • Proficient at performing site assessments and audits.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering – 10 Year Minimum Experience
  • 3 years minimum experience with design in Heavy Industrial locations
  • Professional Engineer License

  • Proficient with AutoCad
  • Proficient with Autodesk Revit and Recap
  • Proficient with Navisworks
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Proficient with MS Project
  • Proficient with BIM360 and ACC

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    Working Hours/Environment

    • Hours average 40 per week; may require additional hours including evening and weekends depending on business needs.
    • Work typically performed in an indoor office setting/client site.

    Travel: Limited short-term travel may be required.

    Physical Demands:

    • Frequently required to sit at a desk/workstation for long period of time.
    • Ability to work at a computer terminal for extended periods of time.
    • Light Lifting up to 20 lbs.
    • Ability to speak to and hear employees/clients via phone or in person.
    • Body motor skills sufficient to enable incumbent to move around an office environment.
    • Ability to analyze unique situations and develop appropriate response.
