Job description

The Beautiful Wyndham Lake Buena Vista Disney Springs Resort is seeking a Loss Prevention Officer.
Key Responsibilities
Asset Protection
Monitor premises, make frequent property walks, public areas resence to detect suspicious behavior or potential security risks.
  • Identify and prevent theft, fraud, and policy violations.
  • Conduct routine inspections of doors, windows, storage areas, and alarm systems.
Incident Response & Reporting
  • Respond promptly to security incidents, emergencies, or disturbances.
  • Detain and interview suspected individuals in accordance with company policies and legal guidelines.
  • Document incidents accurately with clear, detailed written reports.
  • Assist law enforcement when required.
Investigation
  • Perform internal investigations related to theft, safety violations, or misconduct.
  • Gather evidence, complete incident summaries, and maintain accurate documentation.
Safety & Compliance
  • Enforce company policies, safety procedures, and loss prevention standards.
  • Support safety programs including fire prevention, emergency preparedness, and accident response.
  • Participate in regular audits and compliance checks.
Customer Service & Team Support
  • Provide a visible and approachable security presence to enhance employee and guest safety.
  • Assist employees with security concerns and support operations teams with risk reduction.
  • Partner with management to recommend process improvements that reduce shrink and enhance safety.
Qualifications
Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in loss prevention, security, or related field preferred.
  • Strong observational, computer, and communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
  • Basic knowledge of security systems
  • Ability to stand, walk, or patrol for extended periods.
Preferred
  • Certification in security or loss prevention (e.g., LPQ, LPC) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of investigative procedures.
  • Experience in retail, hospitality, or asset protection.
