NPI Machinist - Evening Shift (Mon-Thurs, 10-Hour Shifts) Location: Onsite (Raleigh, NC) Employment Type: Full-Time Recruiter: Symbiotic Services Position Overview Symbiotic Services is seeking a skilled NPI Machinist to support new product development and machining operations. This role focuses on first articles and pilot production runs, ensuring process verification, quality improvements, and efficient manufacturing practices. The ideal candidate will contribute to problem-solving initiatives, support team development, and help maintain a strong safety culture.

Key Responsibilities Set up CNC machines and related equipment for new product development Work from technical drawings, 3D CAD models, and CNC programs Perform first article setup, inspection, and validation Utilize precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, dial indicators) Operate CNC and manual machines as needed Troubleshoot machining and quality issues in collaboration with programmers and quality teams Develop and document setup procedures and work instructions Install and adjust cutting tools and workholding devices Monitor production to maintain accuracy and quality standards Run multiple machines concurrently Ensure parts meet specifications before moving to the next process Maintain a clean and safe work environment Train team members and provide feedback to leadership Report unsafe conditions or equipment issues Support continuous improvement and teamwork initiatives Qualifications Minimum 3 years of CNC setup experience Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience Required experience with 4th axis machining Experience with prototyping and first-piece development preferred Familiarity with HAAS controls is a plus Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading Proficiency with precision measurement tools Physical Requirements Continuous attention to detail and visual focus Frequent standing; occasional walking, sitting, kneeling, crouching, or crawling Regular lifting up to 10 lbs, frequent lifting up to 25 lbs, occasional lifting up to 50 lbs Ability to work in a physically demanding environment Work Environment Exposure to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, and chemicals High-noise manufacturing environment Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety shoes Symbiotic Services is committed to connecting skilled professionals with leading manufacturing opportunities.
