About Athena
Athena is a creative place for leaders, risk-takers, and boundary-pushers. We partner with organizations looking to transform their presence, reputation, and performance. For more than a decade, we've delivered business insights, marketing strategies, and brand activations for leading organizations across industries ranging from telecommunications to major league sports.
Our people make Athena, Athena. As a three-time Philadelphia Inquirer Top Workplace, we pride ourselves on fostering an environment where passion meets excellence. We are solutions-oriented, collaborative, and not afraid to roll up our sleeves to make work that works-while sharing a few laughs along the way.
About the role
As the Social Intelligence Senior Analyst, you'll manage day-to-day social listening, alerting, and reporting workstreams for a Fortune 50 client, helping the team identify emerging issues, translate digital conversations into actionable insights, and support timely client decision-making. This role requires strategic thinking, hands-on analysis, strong project coordination, and confident client communication.
As part of a high-performing team of analysts, the Social Intelligence Senior Analyst will work closely with the account leader and client stakeholders to uncover new opportunities to deliver insights and enhance brand, business, and customer intelligence. This individual will also contribute to integrated digital reporting for the client, including paid social, organic social, and website metrics.
We're looking for an experienced social intelligence professional who enjoys uncovering patterns within complex datasets, thrives in fast-moving environments, and can independently translate findings into meaningful business insights for executive audiences.
Requirements
What you'll be responsible for:
  • Own daily social listening activities, monitoring brand health, reputation, competitive activity, emerging issues, and key business priorities while delivering timely intelligence to client stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain advanced Boolean queries across Sprinklr, Brandwatch, NetBase, Talkwalker, Meltwater, or similar social listening platforms.
  • Monitor brand health, emerging issues, competitive activity, and conversation trends in real time.
  • Analyze the competitive landscape, industry trends, consumer sentiment, and emerging conversations to identify opportunities, risks, and actionable recommendations.
  • Develop and contribute to executive-ready dashboards, reports, and presentations that highlight social, digital, and website performance for senior client leadership.
  • Translate social and digital analytics into actionable recommendations that strengthen brand intelligence, support communications strategy, and inform enterprise decision-making.
  • Operate within a flexible and occasionally adjusted schedule, with the possibility of evening and/or weekend work to support real-time monitoring and client needs.

Skills and experience you should have:
  • 4-6 years of experience in social media intelligence, social listening, digital marketing analytics, or a related field.
  • Expertise using enterprise social listening platforms such as Sprinklr, Brandwatch, Talkwalker, Meltwater, NetBase Quid, Synthesio, Hootsuite, or similar platforms, including advanced Boolean query development and optimization.
  • Strong strategic understanding of social listening capabilities and passion for staying educated about developments.
  • Experience analyzing paid, owned, and earned social media performance across multiple digital channels.
  • Experience with Google Analytics 4 (GA4) or comparable website analytics platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex data sets into insightful non-technical stories.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience presenting insights to senior leadership through executive-ready reports, dashboards, and presentations.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage analytical workstreams and collaborate effectively with internal teams, external partners, and client stakeholders.
  • High level of comfort operating in a fast-paced environment, independently prioritizing multiple projects, and maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills, including experience presenting data visually for executive audiences.
  • Experience building dashboards using Tableau, Power BI, Looker Studio, or similar visualization platforms preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, market research, data analytics, economics, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • Experience supporting Fortune 500 brands, communications agencies, public relations firms, marketing agencies, consulting organizations, or enterprise corporate communications teams preferred.

Benefits
Medical, vision and dental benefits, including a $1,000 Health Reimbursement Account; matching 401(k); generous paid time off; and substantial parental leave.
