Job description

The STG Club Concierge Usher plays a key role in the showtime operations of the STG Club. During a given shift the STG Club Concierge fills three vital roles: Club Entry, Club Lounge, or Special Event Attendant. These guest-facing roles are vital to creating premium experience for STG Club members, donors, and special guests in the STG Club and special event. The ideal candidate is professional, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced environment focused on exceptional service & attention to detail. This a non-exempt part-time casual position with a pay range of $22.00 to $26.40 an hour.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Club Entry:
    • Sets up the lounge & entry podium for the evening
    • Greet guests warmly, verify names on the guest list, scan digital tickets, and provide parking validation as needed
    • Maintain accurate records of ticket distribution, including partial pickups and special cases
    • Assists & troubleshoots ticketing glitches as needed; escalates to supervisor when necessary
    • Document any entry issues for Club follow-up
    • Uphold membership policies regarding ticket usage, parking, and access
  • Club Lounge:
    • Assists with lounge set up
    • Welcome and check in guests to the Lounge
    • Provide a warm, helpful presence throughout the evening, including during intermission and post-show
    • Communicate with coat check volunteers, bar staff, and managers to ensure seamless operations
    • Confirm guest eligibility for lounge access and manage exceptions with discretion
    • Guide guests with showtime announcements using approved procedures
    • Complete end-of-show duties: clean, reset supplies, return equipment, and secure the lounge
  • Special Events:
    • Set up event space before each event: prepare space for food/bev service needs, light candles, set out programs, control music/lighting, and ensure the space is clean and inviting
    • Communicate with Event Manager on unique requirements of the nights’ event to ensure seamless operations
    • Provide a warm, helpful presence throughout the evening, including during intermission and post-show as needed
    • Exercise high level of professionalism & discretion when interacting with high-profile guests, donors, & VIPs
    • Coordinate with event manager for intermission & post-show access and manage expectations with guests
    • Guide guests with showtime announcements using approved procedures
    • Complete end-of-show duties: clean, load dishwasher, reset supplies, return equipment, and secure the event space

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to stay organized under pressure
  • Comfortable using two-way radios and following live event protocols
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

Preferred:

  • Experience in hospitality, live events, or customer service roles
  • Familiarity with donor/member relations and handling confidential lists
  • Understanding of ADA guest services and theatre floor plans

Physical Requirements:

  • Vision – corrected vision close to 20/20 is necessary to effectively read printed guest lists 
  • Sitting/Standing/Walking – this is primarily a standing position, stationed at podiums
  • Occasional lifting of boxes may be requested

Additional Information:

  • This is a casual/part-time role. Work schedules are established monthly, with weekly hours varying based on event volume.
  • This role requires in-person, on-site work at event venues. Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.
