Job description

Princeton Day School is seeking an experienced Upper School Computer Science Teacher for a full-time one-year position for the 2026-27 school year, with the possibility to extend beyond the following year. Princeton Day School is looking for a teacher committed to nurturing and supporting students from grades 9 through 12.

In addition to classroom teaching, a full-time teacher contributes to the community life of PDS as an advisor of 6-12 students, has various duties, and is expected to contribute to school life outside the classroom in an extracurricular activity, such as coaching or clubs. One to four times a semester, a weekend or evening activity or campus event may be required.

For this position, the ideal candidate is expected to:

  • Teach 3 sections of AP Computer Science A
  • Co-teach 9th Grade STEAMinar classes with the Engineering and Design teacher
  • Serve as an academic advisor in the high school
  • Serve as an advisor to the high school Computer Science club and support the annual PantherHack event
  • Provide timely feedback to support a growth mindset and continuous learning
  • Collaborate within course teams and for department and divisional initiatives
  • Assist in high school specific duties and extra-curricular areas of the school

Qualifications and Personal Attributes:

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science or a related discipline (Masters preferred)
  • Teaching experience in an upper school
  • Proven success in student-centered teaching
  • Knowledge and experience with the AP Computer Science A curriculum is preferred
  • Training in research-informed pedagogical strategies
  • Possess a well-developed sensitivity, knowledge, and understanding of the diverse

backgrounds of community members; be committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion

  • Forward thinking and creativity in teaching
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
  • Experience with technology integration
  • Experience with differentiated instruction

Compensation Range: $66,500 - $107,000 a year (this role is eligible for benefits)
