Job Description
The positions at Toni&Guy Hairdressing Academy will be fulltime and/or part-time. Positions include Cosmetology, Esthetics, and Nail Tech. Day/Evening available. Objectives:
  • Provide quality course information by planning, preparing, and delivering quality classroom instruction.
  • Implement the TONI&GUY HAIRDRESSING ACADEMY curriculum.
  • Provide guidance and academic support to students to facilitate course completion.
  • Maintain a high student retention rate based on organizational and regulatory expectations.
  • Evaluate and answer student inquiries and ensure appropriate action is taken to resolve issues.
  • Deliver the TONI&GUY Spotlight Experience to all Academy students with a commitment to student success and overall positive educational experience at the Academy.
  • Maintain a professional and positive demeanor at all times.
  • RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Demonstrate upbeat, professional conduct towards students, co-workers, and school patrons at all times.
  • Begin class on time; maintain punctual arrival 30 minutes prior to start of class to ensure absolute preparedness.
  • Ensure that students and clients receive the TONI&GUY Spotlight Experience in all dealings with school personnel.
  • Comply with all Academy dress code and company policies at all times.
  • Support the school Administration and Director as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.Students/ Student Education/Administration:Academy Activities:Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:Preferred Minimum Requirements:
  • Prepare and deliver lecture and lab demonstrations as outlined in curriculum; administer grades weekly.
  • Demonstrate understanding of and encourage all learning styles and temperaments.
  • Conduct tutorial sessions, as needed.
  • Organize and monitor field trips, guest speakers, and other approved curriculum enhancements; coordinate with Education Director.
  • Seek alternatives to improving student outcomes, reducing attrition, and increasing retention.
  • Track and advise students of their academic and attendance progress.
  • Identify students with possible challenges and collaborate with faculty and staff to generate possible solutions;
  • Seek administrative council when dealing with students who need additional support.
  • Supervise student duties to ensure a clean, safe work and learning environment.
  • Continually identify areas needing self-improvement and advance own training by implementing and completing additional training programs.
  • Support the school Administration and Director(s) as needed.
  • Assist the Director(s) and Education Director with monitoring back bar, floor products and color inventories.
  • Comply with all Federal, State, accreditation and institutional policies and procedures.
  • Maintain awareness of all Academy activities by referring to Academy calendars.
  • Coordinate student Test-Outs with the Education Director.
  • Assist the Director(s), Education Directors and students in producing the Annual Student Soiree.
  • Attend and actively participate in scheduled faculty staff meetings and occasional special events.

  • Knowledge of State Board procedures
  • Excellent group / classroom management skills
  • State Cosmetology License and State Cosmetology Instructor License.
  • Three years’ experience as a hairdresser, hairdresser training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Cosmetology School experience.
