Job Title: CNC Machinist

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Multi-Axis CNC Machinist to join a fast-paced job shop environment in Decatur, AL. This role is ideal for a hands-on machinist who can independently set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC equipment while producing high-quality precision parts. Aerospace experience is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate multi-axis CNC machines (3-, 4-, and/or 5-axis).
  • Perform tool changes, offsets, and work offsets.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and work instructions.
  • Make minor program edits at the machine (G-code).
  • Perform first-article inspections and in-process quality checks.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues related to tooling, programs, and setups.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Meet production schedules while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Essential Skills

  • 3–5 years of CNC machining experience in a job shop environment.
  • Experience with multi-axis CNC machines.
  • Ability to independently perform machine setup, tool changes, and offsets.
  • Proficiency in fixture setup and basic CNC programming or program editing.
  • Strong blueprint reading skills, including GD&T.
  • Experience using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.).
  • Must be able to provide own machining tools.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in the aerospace industry is a plus.
  • Knowledge of G&M codes, Grobe, Mazak lathe, Mazak mill, M3 Spindle, climb milling, and conventional milling.
  • Ability to perform feed and speed adjustments.
