      LB&B Associates is seeking a full time HVAC Mechanic to support our contract to maintain, repair, and optimize heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems at the Mecklenburg County Courthouse, Charlotte NC. This position requires expertise in diagnosing and troubleshooting HVAC systems, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and maintaining optimal indoor air quality.
      Working Schedule: Monday through Friday / 7:00am - 3:30pm.
      Key Responsibilities:
      Inspect, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, including chillers, boilers, air handlers, and control systems.
      Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues in heating and cooling systems and perform necessary repairs.
      Conduct routine preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
      Monitor and adjust building automation systems (BAS) to optimize temperature, humidity, and air quality.
      Respond promptly to service calls and work orders to resolve HVAC-related issues in a timely manner.
      Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
      Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal HVAC regulations, safety codes, and building standards.
      Assist with the installation and commissioning of new HVAC equipment as needed.
      Collaborate with other maintenance staff to ensure seamless facility operations.
      Follow all workplace safety procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
      Qualifications & Requirements:
      Experience: Minimum 5-10 years of HVAC experience, preferably in commercial or government facilities.
      Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or apprenticeship preferred.
      Licensing & Certifications:
      EPA Section 608 Certification (Universal) - Required
      North Carolina HVAC License H1 or H2 - or Master HVAC License - Required
      OSHA 10 or 30 certification - Preferred
      Skills & Knowledge:
      Strong understanding of HVAC systems, electrical controls, and mechanical operations.
      Experience with building automation systems (BAS).
      Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
      Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
      Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
      Strong communication and customer service skills.
      Physical Requirements:
      Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
      Ability to work in varying temperatures and environmental conditions.
      Work Schedule:
      Full-time position; may require on-call, evening, or weekend work as needed.
