Job description

Lenea Corporation is hiring a Civil Superintendent to lead heavy civil roadway and paving operations on projects across Arizona, New Mexico, and Alaska. This is a field-based senior leadership role with direct ownership of daily production, safety, quality, schedule execution, and crew performance on federally funded roadway projects.

We are looking for a builder who can lead from the front. This role requires hands-on Trimble grade control expertise. If you can set up a base station, load a site calibration, troubleshoot a GNSS dropout, and train an operator on 3D indicate before lunch, we want to hear from you.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the daily field plan, production targets, safety priorities, and equipment assignments.
  • Own the Trimble grade control workflow across dozers (GCS900 / Earthworks), motor graders (3D mmGPS / UTS), excavators (Earthworks), reclamation machines, pavers and compactors.
  • Manage base station / UTS setup, site calibration, TIN / DTM model loading, daily rover verification, troubleshooting, and as-built export.
  • Lead the paving train, including haul logistics, MTV / shuttle buggy operation, screed control, joint construction, and compaction patterns.
  • Deliver paving work that meets density, temperature, and smoothness (IRI) specifications every shift.
  • Supervise Full-Depth Reclamation (FDR) operations, including pulverizer passes, cement or foamed-asphalt additive rates, density, curing, and coordination with the mix-design engineer.
  • Direct chip seal operations, adjusting emulsion temperature, application rates, aggregate spread, and rolling sequence based on field conditions.
  • Oversee earthwork, aggregate base, drainage, and structures, including lift thickness, compaction, culvert installation (RCP / CMP / HDPE), headwalls, and invert verification.
  • Enforce a strong safety culture through pre-shift briefings, stop-work authority, MUTCD-compliant traffic control, and incident reporting within one hour.
  • Own field quality control, including hold points, haul ticket verification, rejection of non-conforming loads, and submission of the Daily Construction Report each evening.
  • Lead, coach, evaluate, and develop crews.
  • Recruit and support tribal members in alignment with TERO and Indian Preference requirements.
  • Direct subcontractor superintendents on scope, sequencing, safety, and schedule.

What You Bring

  • 10+ years of heavy civil / roadway construction experience.
  • 5+ years as a Superintendent or General Foreman on projects valued at $3M+.
  • Strong, hands-on Trimble grade control expertise, including GCS900 and/or Earthworks on at least three asset classes such as dozers, graders, and excavators.
  • Ability to independently set up, calibrate, troubleshoot, and train operators without outside support.
  • Trimble Certified Operator preferred.
  • Proven HMA paving leadership at superintendent level, with experience running paving trains to state DOT or FHWA specifications.
  • Superintendent-level experience in Full-Depth Reclamation, cold-in-place recycling, and/or chip seal operations.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret civil plans, pavement design summaries, typical sections, and standard details in line with AASHTO, FHWA, and state DOT standards.
  • Working knowledge of Davis-Bacon, MUTCD, TERO / Indian Preference, and SWPPP field compliance.
  • Required certifications: OSHA 30, First Aid / CPR, valid driver’s license with clean MVR.
  • ATSSA TCS or equivalent strongly preferred.
  • CDL-A strongly preferred.
  • Nuclear density gauge card preferred.
  • Experience with Procore or similar field management platforms, Bluebeam Revu, and Trimble Business Center at a user level.
  • Ability to work 10–12 hour shifts in demanding field conditions, including uneven terrain, elevations up to 9,000 ft, and temperatures from -20°F to 110°F while wearing full PPE.
  • Willingness to live on or near the project site for the duration of the job, typically 6–18 months, including remote tribal communities and Alaska village assignments.

Why This Role Matters

This is not a desk job. This is a high-impact field leadership position for someone who knows how to run work, solve problems fast, build strong crews, and deliver roadway projects safely and to spec in challenging environments.

If you are a superintendent who can lead production, own grade control, and keep paving and roadwork operations moving in the field, we want to talk with you.
