We are seeking an accomplished Technical Sales Specialist to support the growth of our market-leading portfolio of instruments and consumables for the automated identification and characterization of microbes and our best-in-class anaerobic media serving both the clinical and research markets. This role requires a strong scientific foundation, commercial maturity, and the ability to manage complex sales cycles involving laboratory consumables and clinical media, and capital equipment.

The ideal candidate brings a proven record of success in life science or clinical diagnostics sales, particularly in negotiating reagent supply agreements and public tenders while developing long-term customer relationships across North-Central Europe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Meet or surpass territory sales targets through a combination of direct selling and effective distributor channel management.
  • Develop strategic account plans and execute sales initiatives within academic, clinical, industrial, and research microbiology laboratories.
  • Lead negotiations for reagent supply agreements, multi-year contracts, and volume-based purchasing arrangements.
  • Monitor and respond to public tenders, ensuring full compliance with procurement requirements and timelines.
  • Deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and consultative support to prospective and existing customers.

  • University degree in life sciences, microbiology, biotechnology, chemistry, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated success in life science or clinical diagnostics sales, with a strong track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
  • Proven experience negotiating reagent supply agreements or similar long-term commercial contracts.
  • Solid understanding of microbiology workflows, laboratory operations, and diagnostic testing environments.
  • Professional proficiency in English; knowledge of an additional European language—preferably German—is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to manage complex sales cycles involving both consumables and capital equipment.
  • Familiarity with public procurement processes and tender management.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience with automated microbial identification systems or related laboratory instrumentation.
  • Established network within clinical microbiology, industrial microbiology, or food/environmental testing sectors.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project-management skills.
  • Self-driven, adaptable, and comfortable operating in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.
