Job description

Redan LLC is seeking a highly experienced Senior Developer / Systems Engineer to join a growing team delivering business and technology modernization for a federal financial-regulatory client.
In this role you will design, build, test, and deploy software solutions and automations that turn mission requirements into secure, maintainable, high-value capabilities. You will combine hands-on development with analytical responsibilities - understanding user needs, contributing to system design, and ensuring solutions meet technical, accessibility, and security standards. You also serve as the engagement's dedicated security resource, supporting Security Assessment & Authorization (SA&A) and continuous monitoring. This role is pivotal to driving digital transformation through AWS and Power Platform solutions across a complex, regulated environment.
The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise across AWS and the Microsoft Power Platform, a data- and quality-first mindset, and strong communication and collaboration skills. You must be adaptive to changing organizational needs, comfortable in an Agile environment, and effective at building relationships across teams and stakeholders throughout all Agile ceremonies.
What You'll Be Doing
As the Senior Developer / Systems Engineer at Redan, you will:
  • Write, test, debug, and deploy code for software applications and systems that solve business needs
  • Design, build, and automate business workflows and create and maintain dashboards and reports
  • Develop analytics and automated dataflows in AWS SageMaker, using Python for scripting, data preparation, and model execution
  • Build automations in Microsoft Power Automate, including approved AI-assisted text summarization, extraction, and classification
  • Build applications on the Microsoft Power Platform - Power Apps (Canvas, Model-Driven, Power Pages) and Power Apps Code Apps (pro-code React/TypeScript deployed on the governed Power Platform with Microsoft Entra ID and DLP)
  • Develop dashboards, metrics, and data models in Power BI using SQL and DAX
  • Design, optimize, and execute data transformations; troubleshoot ETL pipelines and connectors; validate data accuracy across sources, schemas, and downstream applications
  • Apply Test-Driven Deve
    • lopment and automated testing (Selenium/JUnit, Playwright for modern web) integrated into CI/CD; support functional, integration, and end-to-end testing of AI and non-AI systems; document model assumptions, outputs, model cards, and validation evidence
    • Ensure compliance with technical, security, accessibility (Section 508), configuration-management, and release standards in coordination with the agency IT office
    • Serve as the engagement's dedicated security resource: support Security Assessment & Authorization (SA&A / RMF) - SSP inputs and POA&M remediation - perform continuous monitoring, and coordinate with the agency Security Operations Center (SOC) on vulnerability reviews and incident response
    • Collaborate with product owners, SMEs, data teams, and analysts to align solutions to functional requirements and architecture standards
    • Produce clear technical and handoff documentation (designs, scripts, data models, traceability matrices)

    Profile of Success
    Required:
    • Minimum 7 years of software development and systems engineering experience within the past 10 years
    • Proven hands-on development on AWS (e.g., SageMaker, RDS, S3, ECS) with Python
    • Strong Microsoft Power Platform development - Power Apps (Canvas, Model-Driven, Power Pages, Code Apps), Power Automate, Power BI (SQL, DAX); PCF components a plus
    • Experience designing and troubleshooting ETL/data pipelines and integrations
    • Database design and development (SQL; Oracle or NoSQL a plus)
      • Experience with Test-Driven Development and automated testing (Selenium/Playwright), functional/integration testing, IV&V, and validation documentation
      • Familiarity with CI/CD, GitHub, JIRA, ServiceNow, and SharePoint Online
      • Working knowledge of cloud security and governance best practices (RMF/ATO, FIPS-aligned encryption, secure configuration)
      • Experience serving as or supporting a dedicated security resource: SA&A / RMF (NIST SP 800-53 / 800-37), security architecture for web applications and infrastructure, continuous monitoring, and SOC / incident-response support
      • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and ceremonies
      • Excellent written and oral communication; strong troubleshooting and attention to detail

      Preferred:
      • AWS certification (e.g., Developer, Machine Learning, or Solutions Architect)
      • Experience with ML/AI solutions, model cards, and model validation
      • Security certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+) and hands-on SA&A / continuous-monitoring experience
      • Prior federal experience; ability to ramp quickly on a regulatory-domain context
