Emergency Veterinarian - Ethos ER Immerse Mentorship Program - Jacksonville, FL

First Coast Veterinary Specialists & Emergency is seeking veterinarians passionate about working in emergency medicine for our 6-month training and mentorship program. We are looking for individuals who are team oriented, driven, reflective, and reliable to train with us.

Our mission is to deliver exceptional care to our patients and their families while maintaining a supportive work/life balance, fostering a collaborative and collegial work environment, and encouraging individual professional growth within our team. As an ER-focused veterinarian mentee, you will benefit from the expertise of our in-house surgical specialists, a traveling internist, and an extensive, cooperative referral network.

Jacksonville Beach offers 22 miles of beautiful coastline with year-round opportunities for surfing, paddleboarding, fishing, kayaking, hiking, and other outdoor recreation. Families enjoy highly rated schools, attractions like Adventure Landing, and a welcoming community that hosts popular annual events such as the Springing the Blues Festival and the Sea & Sky Air Show.

The Ethos ER Immerse Training Program

The ER Immerse Program will prepare veterinarians for a sustainable and satisfying career in emergency medicine. Built from the ground up to be different than traditional rotating internship programs, the ERi program has been developed around a curriculum of core competencies essential for an emergency veterinarian. In addition to providing training around clinical knowledge and skills, the program also includes a focus on client and team member communication, professional skills, and life/work integration.

The ER Immerse program utilizes a hybrid training approach incorporating simulation-based didactic components into authentic training experiences with live patients. The curriculum is designed using an evidence-based strategy identifying competencies and skills deemed essential for a successful career as an emergency clinician.

  • 6 month training program beginning June or July 2027
  • Option to re-sign for another 6-month training program or transfer to a 12 month associate role with First Coast, should an opening be available
