We are searching for the best talent for a Parts Fabricator Tech 1 in San Angelo, TX.
This position is under a Collective Bargaining Agreement in a union environment and the hourly rate is $28.34/hr
Key Responsibilities:
  • Read diagrams, sketches, blueprints, operation manuals and manufacturing specifications related to assigned equipment.
  • Accurate record keeping via computer management systems and/or via manual systems by inputting and retrieving maintenance data, and other pertinent data following standard procedures.
  • Follow current compliance regulations and standards.
  • Work in accordance with Ethicon environmental policies and procedures.
  • Independently recognize and solve problems with the ability to make critical decisions under pressure on breakdowns and works towards effectively managing deadlines in completing breakdown, maintenance and project activities.
  • Associates holding this position will always demonstrate the ability to work with and communicate well with others, give and understand instructions, both verbal and written.
  • Maintains general housekeeping within the department, keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly. Maintain inventory of spare parts and notify supervisor when parts are needed.
  • This full time position supports a 24 hour, 7 day a week manufacturing operation.
  • Must read, interpret and follow work instructions and training materials.
  • Pass and maintain training and certification examinations as required.
  • Does any other work of a related nature and performs other work related duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Requirements:
Education / Experience and Skills -
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Successful completion of WORKKEYS with a score of (5) FIVE or higher on all ETHICON required modules GOLD Level.
  • Strong record of accomplishments with automated equipment is preferred.
  • Attending and successfully complete required training as well as keeping tabs of changes in process control methods and practices especially as they may apply to ETHICON, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting using proper equipment.

Level 1 Requirements -
  • Be capable of machine to tolerances of at least .005".
  • Work from simple sketches, verbal instructions, and can fabricate similar or modified parts utilizing existing sample parts for patterns.
  • Understand blueprints for the purpose of fabrication of and/or repair of simple machine components.
  • With direction, layout work for machining and fitting.
  • Possesses a good knowledge of shop math.
  • Uses proper tools in the process of making finished parts.
  • Knowledgeable of and can use the machinist handbook, (a plus, but not required).
  • Performs necessary bench work using proper tools and works to specified tolerances.
  • Assists other machinists in performing jobs requiring assistance in lifting, handling, component disassembly, etc.
  • Avoid wasting raw materials in doing work.
