Hiring Opportunity: Lancaster Ohio
Our client is looking to hire a Chemical Etch Operator for their Lancaster Ohio location! Our client is an industry leading producer of glass bottles, labeling and packaging.
The Assistant Chemical Etch Operator is responsible for Operation of a Chemical Etch Machine, Troubleshooting Mechanical Issues, general understanding of chemicals, looking after a team of 7, and making sure the production line continues to move.
Good candidates for this position would have experience in a production line, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and a general understanding of chemicals.
Job requirements:
- 1+ year of experience troubleshooting mechanical issues pertaining to various machinery
- Experience working with chemicals is a big bonus
- 1+ year of experience working on a production line
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
Job responsibilities:
- Chemical knowledge
- Mechanical knowledge
- Operates the etching and water treatment equipment
- Responsible for the organization and cleanliness of the equipment and work area
- Responsible for the organization and cleanliness of areas around loading, etching, water treatment, packing, tool storage etc.
- Responsible for the safety of team members working in the etching department
- Setup, trouble shoot and operate the etching line and water treatment equipment
- Gives work instructions and is responsible for the quality of the work performed by the production crew
- Must have sufficient bottles, chemicals and other components required for production
- Performance of the water treatment process
- Ensures that the waste water discharged meets the standards established
- Verify and calibrate probes
- Ensures good functioning of pumps, mixers control etc.
- Prepare, adjust and add chemicals used to etch bottles and/or to treat the waste water
- Document setups, adjustments and controlling parameters or the equipment listed above
