How much do temp etch operator jobs pay per hour?

As of Jun 29, 2026, the average hourly pay for temp etch operator in the United States is $23.72, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $19.47 and $26.92 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What is an etch technician?

An etch technician is a worker who operates equipment used to etch or remove material from semiconductor wafers or other substrates during manufacturing. They set up, monitor, and maintain etching processes, often using chemical or plasma etching tools, and ensure quality control throughout production. This role requires knowledge of cleanroom procedures, safety protocols, and technical skills related to process equipment.

What is the difference between Temp Etch Operator vs Etching Technician?

AspectTemp Etch OperatorEtching Technician
CredentialsHigh school diploma, on-the-job trainingHigh school diploma, technical training often preferred
Work EnvironmentManufacturing or semiconductor plants, cleanroomsManufacturing facilities, cleanroom environments
Job FocusOperating etching equipment, monitoring processesSetting up, maintaining, troubleshooting etching systems
Industry UsageCommon in semiconductor, electronics manufacturingUsed in similar industries, often with more technical responsibilities

The Temp Etch Operator and Etching Technician roles share similar environments and credentials but differ mainly in responsibility scope. The Temp Etch Operator typically focuses on operating equipment and monitoring processes, while the Etching Technician handles setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Both roles are vital in manufacturing settings like semiconductor production, with the Technician often requiring more technical skills and experience.

What is the highest paying operator job?

Among operator roles, specialized positions such as CNC machine operators, industrial machinery operators, and chemical process operators tend to have the highest salaries. These roles often require technical skills, certifications, and experience, and they typically offer higher pay due to the complexity and safety requirements of the work.

What jobs pay 2000 a day?

Temp Etch Operators typically do not earn $2000 a day; such high daily rates are usually associated with specialized roles like executive consultants, high-level contractors, or certain freelance professionals. Most manufacturing or industrial jobs pay hourly wages, and earning $2000 daily generally requires extensive experience, advanced skills, or working in high-paying industries or roles with significant overtime or project-based pay. Job seekers should research specific high-paying fields and roles that offer such compensation levels.

How to become a process operator with no experience?

To become a process operator, including a temp etch operator, gaining relevant skills such as attention to detail, understanding of manufacturing processes, and basic technical knowledge is important. Entry-level positions often require a high school diploma or equivalent, and on-the-job training is common. Certifications in safety or equipment operation can improve prospects, and some employers may prefer candidates with prior experience or technical training programs.
