Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Estimator with a strong background in the structural steel industry. This office-based role reports directly to the Chief Estimator and is responsible for preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for structural steel fabrication and erection projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge, construction experience, and the ability to interpret contract documents and drawings effectively.
Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare computer-aided and manual take-off estimates for structural steel components.
Perform quantity take-offs for all types of structural steel members and typical detailing requirements.
Develop supporting documentation required to produce complete and accurate cost estimates.
Apply labor standards and understand fabrication and erection means and methods.
Review vendor and sub-tier subcontractor quotes to ensure scope compliance with contract documents.
Prepare estimate summaries outlining basic and special project requirements, including buy-out items.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure estimate accuracy and completeness.
Assist in training and mentoring Estimators-in-Training.
Maintain organized and accurate estimating records and documentation.
Must-Have QualificationsMinimum 5 years of experience in the structural steel industry in a similar estimating role.
Strong understanding of steel fabrication and steel erection processes.
Construction experience is required.
Proven ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and contract documents.

Preferred Skills & ToolsExperience with Bluebeam, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Office (1+ year preferred).
