Truck Body Shop Technician / Painter

Location: Dallas, TX
Schedule: Monday - Friday
Southwest International Trucks is hiring an experienced Truck Body Shop Technician / Painter to join our Dallas Team. This full-time role offers competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and company incentives.
Truck Body Painter/ Body Technician Job Responsibilities

  • Remove grease, dirt, paint, or rust from vehicle surfaces in preparation for paint application, using abrasives, solvents, brushes, blow torches or sandblasters
  • Tape vehicle for painting
  • Buff/Polish
  • Properly mix paint so that they spray evenly and consistently
  • Clean Guns
  • Advises Body Shop Manager if additional work is needed.    
  • Maintains safe work environment by adhering to work standards and practices.
  • Complete daily paperwork.
  • Repair unibody structural damage
  • Replace and repair body panels
  • Replace damaged wiring harnesses, or reinstall harnesses after body repair
  • Remove and reinstall interiors
  • Dry box repairs
  • Reefer box repairs
  • FRP repairs on Box trucks
  • Performs work as outlined on repair order
  • Communicates with Parts Department to obtain needed parts
  • Advises Body Shop Manager if additional work is needed     

Truck Body Painter/ Body Technician Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent 
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record, CDL a plus
  • Good verbal, listening and written communication skills
  • 3 years MINIMUM experience Painting and/or Body Repairs in a Diesel Truck Body Shop setting
  • Ability to problem solve in an efficient and effective manner

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
