Description

JOB OVERVIEW: The Electrical Estimator is responsible for coordinating and preparing accurate cost estimates for electrical projects. This role involves analyzing project specifications, collaborating with all teams to ensure that all estimates align with company standards and client requirements. The Electrical Estimator plays a crucial role in securing new projects and supporting the successful execution of existing ones.

Requirements

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Determine the total cost of materials, equipment, utilities, and labor for electrical construction projects.
  • Research electrical project documents and analyze specifications.
  • Prepare estimates for planning, organizing, and scheduling electrical project work.
  • Manage pre-qualification and pre-bid submissions.
  • Prepare estimates to meet project timelines, such as setting work hours, sequencing tasks, obtaining materials, and securing the best deals with vendors and subcontractors.
  • Ensure all estimates comply with company standards and client requirements.
  • Ensure that relevant documents and budgets are submitted before a bid deadline.
  • Regularly report to management and keep clients updated on the project status.
  • Formulate contingency plans and effectively manage risks that might impact cost and time estimates.
  • Keep track of the latest estimating technology and industry-related techniques.
  • Collaborate with other teams and conduct site visits when required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 2 years of electrical estimating experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Bachelor's degree in related field or Postsecondary education electrician training program - a plus
  • Experience in Construction is required
  • Experience with Trimble Accubid is preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office & Adobe Acrobat
