DevCo US Construction is hiring for a Full-Time Multifamily Estimating Manager to join our collaborative team in Bellevue, WA! The Multifamily Estimating Manager is responsible for preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for multifamily residential construction projects. They will work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather information and develop cost estimates for materials, labor, and other project expenses. The Multifamily Estimating Manager will be responsible for managing other estimating associates as well as the bidding process and negotiating contracts with subcontractors.

Pay Details: $140,000 to $165,000 in annual salary + performance bonus target of 15%
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm (Hybrid - Flexibility in schedule as agreed upon with hiring manager)

Job Responsibilities
  • Prepare written scopes of work by reviewing projects, breaking subsections out by division, and writing scopes to propose for bids.
  • Minimize scope gaps and overlaps, in estimated budget costs for construction by studying plans and specifications for commercial multifamily and residential construction projects, which may include retail space.
  • Gather and analyze information from project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine project costs.
  • Consult with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather information and clarify project details.
  • Manage the bidding process and negotiate contracts with subcontractors.
  • Maintain accurate records of cost estimates and bids.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve estimating processes.
  • Resolve cost differences by analyzing and collecting information related to each geographic location's property type location
  • Draft and present budgets, reports, and project plans to teams and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Develop bids for construction projects.
  • Navigate and understand current building codes.
  • Stay up to date with safety codes and improvements in construction processes and regulatory standards.
  • Complete assigned tasks by deadlines and communicate any obstacles with your supervisor in advance.
  • Attend training classes as scheduled and assigned.
  • Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or commensurate related field experience.
  • 5+ years of experience as a project estimator in commercial construction industry with multifamily experience strongly desired.
  • 3+ years in a supervisor role managing others.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Familiarity with construction materials, labor costs, and industry pricing trends.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and estimating software.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Successful completion of background check and drug screen is required.
  • Must be able to speak, read and write English in a manner sufficient to carry out the duties.
  • Must be legally qualified to work in the U.S. meeting I-9 guidelines.
