8Fleet is hiring! 8Fleet is a rapidly growing LA-based technology and logistics startup building the operational infrastructure for both autonomous and non-autonomous rideshare fleets. With our anticipated growth, we’re searching for a passionate Market Manager to join and grow with our team. You’ll be involved in every aspect of operations as we expand rapidly!

About the Role:

The Market Manager is responsible for the management of 8Fleet's operations in Salt Lake City, including but not limited to: managing end-to-end operations, strategic planning, data oversight, business operations, and BD. This is an essential role that requires operational expertise, a deep understanding of the ridesharing industry, and a founder’s mindset.

This role will tackle key business priorities that amplify the growth of our business and facilitate operational excellence. Using strong operational and analytical experience from past environments, this person will tackle key projects that will be instrumental in driving our business forward. We need a strategic critical thinker who can start at 20,000 feet and then dive deep into the details to ensure high quality results.
The ideal candidate will have a “doer” attitude, experience in operations, and be comfortable with fast-paced decision-making, have displayed leadership, and can provide open communication. This individual will be critical in helping navigate and grow the business, offering valuable insights and advice on strategic decision-making, implementation, and execution. We’re looking for someone who can successfully execute the role and grow within the Company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fleet Growth & Management:

    • Own all financial and operational metrics to ensure optimal revenue and profit maximization

    • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the fleet, including driver scheduling, dispatch, and performance monitoring.

    • Manage vehicle maintenance and repair programs to ensure optimal fleet utilization and safety.

    • Partner with the Growth team to develop and execute strategies to recruit, onboard, and retain a high-performing driver base.

  • Financial Performance:

    • Analyze fleet performance data to identify areas for improvement in profitability and operational efficiency.

    • Develop and implement cost-effective strategies to maximize fleet profitability.

    • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and track progress towards achieving business goals.

  • Driver Support & Training:

    • Provide ongoing support and training to drivers on industry best practices, safety regulations, and customer service.

    • Foster a positive and supportive environment for all employees.

  • Compliance & Safety:

    • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards.

    • Conduct regular safety audits and implement necessary corrective actions.

Successful Candidates Will Bring:

  • 2+ years of operations management, business consulting, or related experience managing operations, building and developing teams, optimizing processes, and delivering business goals

  • 2+ years of people management experience, high EQ, and proven ability to deliver outstanding results through others in a timely manner using a strong sense of focus, organization, and meticulous attention to detail

  • Goal focus with a strong bias toward action

  • Entrepreneurial hustle and proven self-starter with owner’s mentality; some entrepreneurial experience is preferred

  • Data-driven mindset, strong business judgment, and proven ability to perform analysis, draw key insights, and form and execute a strategy

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships, manage a team, influence stakeholders, and inspire others

  • Excellent organization and time management

  • Willingness to get your hands dirty, lead by example, and motivate teams both through in-person and remote management

  • BA/BS with an impressive academic record

  • MBA or advanced degree is a strong plus

  • Experience with ridesharing platforms (Uber, Lyft) is a strong plus

  • Available full-time, on-site in Salt Lake City (in-office 5 days a week)

Compensation:

  • Base Salary Range: $105k-$125k

  • Plus annual bonus and strong stock option award
