Job description

As a Sr Environmental Engineer you will ensure the Refinery complies with the Environmental Protection Agency's rules and regulations.

At Valero, we are committed to advancing the future of energy through innovation, ingenuity and unmatched execution. You can help achieve this goal if you can: 

  • Ensure the handling and disposal of hazardous materials and solid waste are accomplished within Environmental Protection Agency's rules and regulations.
  • Ensure Refinery compliance with the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, National Emissions Standard for Hazardous Air Pollutants, Air Quality Standards established by Environmental Protection Agency, and guidelines established by the Department of Transportation for training and shipping/handling products.
  • Collect samples of various products/waste in the Refinery as dictated by the various environmental programs.
  • Complete reports for state and federal Regulatory Agencies, and maintain the appropriate documentation.
  • Conduct weekly and monthly Plant inspections to ensure compliance with all Regulatory Agencies, including tank seal inspections.
  • Ensure metal in the refinery is recycled.
  • Enforce all corrective actions and oversee testing related to ground water issues. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned

This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero Ardmore Refinery, required.
  • Bachelor's or higher level degree in Engineering or a related Science required.
  • 5 years of Environmental Engineering or related refinery engineering experience required.

Preferred Requirements: 

  • Master's or higher level degree in Engineering preferred.
