Job Summary

The Marketing Department is looking for a creative and driven individual who has a positive attitude and a strong desire to learn. The Marketing Intern will have the opportunity to learn and work on marketing campaigns for the Philadelphia Flyers and Xfinity Mobile Arena.
This position will directly report to the Sr. Manager, Growth Marketing and work on projects related to email marketing, database growth, and more, while also supporting the entire marketing staff on all department initiatives. In addition, this intern will have a crucial role in game night staffing for theme nights, giveaways, and ticket package redemption.
Please note that this internship will run from late August through mid-December, with potential to extend through the spring, and requires the availability to work 30-40 hours per week. We are looking for college juniors, seniors, or grad students.

Job Description

FLYERS:

  • Write copy for marketing emails and newsletters including Kids Club, Season Ticket Members, and Group Sales
  • Create and edit email marketing templates for upcoming home games
  • Compile and write marketing sweepstakes recaps and present findings to the marketing team
  • Assist with theme night and promotional giveaway planning
  • Staff Flyers home games to manage ticket package redemption, theme nights, and promotional giveaways
  • Manage inventory of autographed items and promotional items
  • Build and manage data collection forms for Flyers Sales, Charities, Service, Community Relations, and Corporate Partnerships using Eloqua
  • Assist with promotion of Student Rush and Military ticket discount programs, including building marketing strategy and identifying areas of opportunity
  • Assist with execution of college ambassador program
  • Assist with grassroots marketing initiatives including outreach, on-site event set-up, and ticket giveaways
  • Work with digital content team to assist in creation of web interstitials and digital ads

XFINITY MOBILE ARENA:

  • Create artist profiles including background, history, discography, fun facts, show notes, and more for upcoming XMA events. Research prior tour stops and include information about marketing and promotion.
  • Provide on-site support during XMA events, including but not limited to social media capture of guest experience initiatives, media prompts, and escorting media and photographers.
  • Assist with sweepstakes execution and outreach
  • Monitor and assist with Xfinity Mobile Arena branding initiatives, including monitoring Comcast Spectacor digital entities, outside media, and partners to ensure proper arena name and logo are being used.
  • Create XMA forms for data collection
  • Create and assist with marketing plans and campaigns including taglines, messaging, and content
  • Conduct market research for pop culture trends amongst different demographics

OTHER:

  • Assist in proofing all marketing materials - print, TV, radio, email, social, etc.
  • Conduct extensive marketing research in the sports and entertainment industry and present findings to the marketing team
  • Assist with invoice management and organization for digital campaigns
  • Work cross-departmentally to execute Flyers swag item requests

Compensation

Base Pay: $15.00
