In the fall of 2025, we opened a brand-new elementary school building, marking the completion of our expansion to a full K–12 program serving over 2,200 students. This growth will make Esperanza Academy the second-largest single charter school in Philadelphia, reinforcing our commitment to delivering high-quality education to even more students in our city.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Esperanza Academy Charter School is seeking an innovative, student-centered, and engaging Technology Teacher to inspire middle and high school students through meaningful technology instruction that promotes creativity, digital literacy, critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. The Technology Teacher will provide students with opportunities to develop essential 21st-century technology skills while fostering responsible digital citizenship and preparing students for success in an increasingly technology-driven world.

The ideal candidate is passionate about integrating technology into education, creating hands-on and project-based learning experiences, and supporting students in becoming confident, responsible, and creative users of technology. This individual will cultivate an engaging classroom environment where students are encouraged to explore, innovate, and apply technology skills to real-world situations.

The Technology Teacher will design and deliver dynamic lessons that expose students to a variety of technology concepts and tools, including digital literacy, coding, multimedia creation, internet safety, productivity applications, keyboarding, and emerging technologies. The role also includes supporting students in developing communication, collaboration, and critical-thinking skills through interactive and technology-rich learning experiences.

• Design and deliver engaging technology lessons aligned to Pennsylvania academic standards and school curriculum expectations.
• Teach foundational technology skills including digital literacy, keyboarding, internet safety, coding, multimedia creation, and productivity software.
• Integrate project-based learning and hands-on technology experiences into instruction.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the academic and developmental needs of diverse learners.
• Promote critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving through technology-based activities.

• Teach and reinforce responsible digital citizenship, internet safety, and appropriate technology use.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and innovation.
• Support students in developing confidence and independence when using technology tools and applications.
• Monitor student progress and provide timely feedback on assignments and projects.

• Collaborate with teachers and school leadership to support technology integration across content areas.
• Assist staff with educational technology tools, platforms, and classroom technology implementation when appropriate.
• Participate in grade-level, department, and professional development meetings.
• Support school-wide technology initiatives and events.

• Maintain accurate student records, grades, and communication with families.
• Ensure classroom technology equipment and resources are used appropriately and maintained responsibly.
• Stay current with emerging educational technology trends and instructional practices.
• Perform additional duties aligned with school initiatives and student success as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Technology Education, Computer Science, or a related field required.
• Pennsylvania teaching certification- Business/ Computer and Information Technology PK-12 or Computer Science 7-12
• Experience teaching technology or integrating technology in K–12 educational settings preferred.
• Strong knowledge of educational technology platforms, digital tools, coding programs, and classroom technology integration.
• Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and staff.
• Current FBI, PA Criminal, and Child Abuse clearances required.
