Job description

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Responsible for oversight, communication regarding and completion of all activities involved in cleaning assigned buildings and spaces, while maintaining an orderly environment throughout, including: removing debris, ensuring areas are kept neat and tidy, vacuuming, emptying waste receptacles, washing and sanitizing surfaces and areas, and any other requests or duties as assigned by management.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Proficiency in all job functions at assigned buildings, communicate cleaning routes and daily assigned duties to all co-workers, customers and leadership team members.

  • Track and perform job functions and responsibilities at multiple locations, as assigned.
  • Maintain inventory levels and communicate supplies needed on a weekly basis.
  • Operate all janitorial equipment, including floor scrubbers, buffers, and window washing kits.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, comfortable, and tidy environment, according to stated standards.
  • Accomplish assigned tasks as instructed and in a timely, orderly and efficient manner.
  • Assist other team members with day-to-day operations as directed.
  • Clean floors by sweeping, scrubbing, and mopping.
  • Clean carpets, rugs, and draperies by vacuuming or other means, as instructed.
  • Dust and polish furniture and fittings; clean metal fixtures and fittings.
  • Empty and clean trash/waste containers, while ensuring that they are kept in a sanitary condition.
  • Wipe down glass and other services, in order to maintain a clean and tidy environment.
  • Clean washbasins, mirrors, tubs, toilets, and showers, where applicable; ensure sanitary conditions are maintained throughout.
  • Monitor and report necessary domestic repairs and replacements as found.
  • Maintain a strong tolerance for working in fast-paced and/or stressful situations, while solving problems associated with building and space cleanliness and maintenance.
  • Act with honesty, integrity and trustworthiness.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products, techniques, and methods
  • Knowledge of cleaning sensitive materials and techniques
  • Knowledge of cleaning equipment, including floor scrubbers, buffers, window washing kits, basic tools and their uses
  • Knowledge of personal protective equipment, and ability to use
  • Knowledge of company policies and commitment to remain compliant
  • Knowledge of and ability to maintain a professional and positive attitude towards team members and customers alike
  • Knowledge of medical space cleaning procedures, as directed and/or introduced
  • Knowledge and understanding of blood borne pathogens, training, terminal cleaning, transmission of disease, hand washing, isolations, dwell times and level II PPE
  • Skill in assessing and understanding inventory levels for assigned buildings and customer needs
  • Skill in cleaning and maintaining sanitary conditions
  • Skill in paying attention to detail, inspecting condition of a space, and ability to determine cleaning and maintenance priorities to be completed
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and a carry a minimum weight of 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand for long periods of times
  • Ability to kneel, bend, crawl, squat, and crouch, as is needed to perform job responsibilities
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to dust, fumes, products and chemicals associated with cleaning
  • Ability to receive instruction and follow directions to complete assignments
  • Ability to work without direct supervision, in order to fulfill job requirements and expectations
  • Ability to act in a responsible, trustworthy and respectful manner while performing job requirements at assigned locations
  • Ability to assist supervisor and/or other team members with laundering materials and products
  • Ability to adapt and remain versatile to changing working environments and conditions
  • Ability to train new hires on proper care and maintenance of various floor surfaces, including carpets, and train in other areas as directed by management

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Typically, good working conditions in controlled environments. Exposure to dust, fumes, chemicals, and cleaning products. Required to work at varying job locations, as assigned. May be required to perform tasks outside, without controlled environments.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND CERTIFICATION:

  • At least one to three years of experience with cleaning materials and products
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
  • Must complete all Spartan training videos and course quizzes
