WAGE: Grade 104 – Compensation based on years of verified and relevant experience.

JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the English Learners (EL) Executive Director, the EL Curriculum and Parent Engagement Coordinator oversees the implementation of district models for teaching and learning of English Learners using gold‑standard curriculum materials.

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in education and Teacher certification with an ESL endorsement; may also hold a Master’s in TESOL.
• Training in the SIOP Instructional Model.

Preferred:

• Master’s degree in administration.

• Oversee implementation of the district‑approved curriculum and resources for English Learners.
• Refine district models for teaching and learning of EL.
• Lead and monitor the Summer School EL Program and implement research‑based best practices.
• Ensure all language centers align with the district’s instructional model (Literacy Continuum).
• Coordinate selection and purchase of instructional materials to support EL instruction per district standards.
• Interface with community agencies involved in resettlement efforts.
• Coordinate efforts with other EL and Migrant staff to expand parent involvement opportunities.
• Plan and facilitate EL district‑wide parent meetings and Family Literacy Activities; communicate with parents regarding progress (including WIDA proficiency).
• Provide training for summer school staff.
• Support and train PreK‑12 principals and staff on EL practices; collaborate with itinerant EL and content‑focused literacy specialists.
• Support new staff in meeting EL needs.
• Develop training programs for paraprofessionals involved with EL.
• Stay current with research‑based practices affecting EL education.
• Lead professional learning communities and coach PreK‑12 staff on EL best practices.
• Develop rubrics to monitor EL progress in conjunction with the Office of Assessment.
• Coordinate identification, assessment, placement, and services for PreK‑12 scholars with a Primary or Home Language Other Than English (PHLOTE).
• Assist schools in monitoring exited EL scholars.
• Analyze scholar data (e.g., WIDA, attendance, writing prompts, NWEA, discipline) and develop action plans.
• Participate in Child Study Teams and the District’s Bilingual Diagnostic processes.
• Create and chair an EL Proficiency Team to support decision‑making and program improvement with administrators, parents, community members, and staff.
• Participate in internal and external data analyses and instructional initiatives.
• Share data on EL progress and use technology to support training and classroom instruction.
• Coordinate with Human Resources on recruitment and selection of bilingual/ESL staff.
• Support and collaborate with PreK‑12 principals.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned within grant funding and Executive Director guidance.
• Demonstrate dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Perform other duties as required.
