What is an esim?

An eSIM job typically involves working with embedded SIM (eSIM) technology, which replaces traditional physical SIM cards in mobile devices. Roles in this field can include software development, network engineering, product management, or technical support related to eSIM activation, provisioning, and security. Professionals in this area collaborate with telecom providers, device manufacturers, and enterprise clients to ensure seamless connectivity and integration of eSIMs in various devices.

What are the typical daily responsibilities of an esim specialist?

As an eSIM Specialist, your daily responsibilities usually include configuring and activating eSIM profiles, troubleshooting provisioning issues, and ensuring secure deployment across compatible devices. You may work closely with mobile network operators, device manufacturers, and IT support teams to coordinate seamless network connectivity for end users. Monitoring system performance, updating firmware, and maintaining compliance with industry standards are also part of the role. These activities help ensure reliable service and a positive user experience for customers relying on eSIM-enabled devices.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the esim position, and why are they important?

To thrive as an eSIM Specialist (Embedded SIM Specialist), you need a strong background in telecommunications, SIM technology, and mobile device provisioning, often supported by a degree in IT, telecommunications, or electronics. Familiarity with eSIM management platforms, over-the-air (OTA) provisioning systems, and relevant industry standards such as GSMA specifications is essential. Attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and effective communication are key soft skills for diagnosing issues and working with cross-functional teams. These skills are crucial for ensuring seamless device connectivity and supporting scalable digital solutions in a rapidly evolving tech landscape.

Job description

About IDTDP:

IDT Digital Payments (IDTDP) is an IDT Corporation division, powering prepaid mobile top-up, eSIM connectivity, and digital gift cards across direct-to-consumer apps (including BOSS Revolution), retail, and B2B/wholesale channels such as the Zendit platform. The division serves customers in corridors worldwide, combining a consumer-facing product business with a wholesale/API business for partners and resellers.

The role:

This is a commercial product role for a consumer travel product, not a telecom or IoT connectivity engineering role. You will lead the design and delivery of new travel eSIM features and own the roadmap and product lifecycle end to end, interfacing with internal and external functions to deliver an unparalleled experience for international travelers and commercial success. Travel eSIM is a travel-commerce product: it has to work the moment a traveler lands, and it has to earn the next trip's purchase too. You own catalog and pricing, the purchase-to-activation funnel, and the partner economics behind cost and coverage - against major players in the space.

Your responsibilities:
  • Own the travel eSIM roadmap end to end, created and managed in line with market demand and business goals.
  • Lead the design and delivery of new plans and features, owning the full product lifecycle.
  • Conduct market research on traveler needs, market trends, and the competitive landscape to keep the roadmap ahead.
  • Own purchase-to-activation end to end (browse, purchase, QR/eSIM install, first connection).
  • Oversee development and launch to hit quality standards and customer expectations.
  • Own the metrics that prove it worked: conversion, activation, ARPU, repeat purchase, margin by corridor.
  • Own the data-plan catalog and pricing per corridor - balanced against local SIM cost, margin targets and competitors.
  • Work with roaming/wholesale partners on coverage, capacity, and cost.
  • Act as the roadmap stakeholder across multiple scrum teams - write PRDs and push prioritization into each sprint planning.
  • Partner with engineering, marketing, sales, and customer support on every launch and its performance afterward.
  • Equip sales channels with sales materials and support b2b onboarding process.
We expect from you:
  • 4+ years as a PM owning a consumer product end to end -from pricing through purchase, activation, and retention.
  • Experience in defining, building, and shipping complex, technical products.
  • Experience in collaborating with and designers, engineers, Q/A in an agile environment.
  • Experience in facilitating technical discussions about products and features and providing feedback for technical designs.
  • Working understanding of how eSIM technology functions but not at expert level.
  • Product analytics fluency (e.g., Amplitude, GA, Looker/Power BI) to run funnel analysis and A/B tests independently.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and data-driven decision-making.
  • Sharp, concise communicator who can turn a technical or pricing constraint into a one-slide business case.

Nice to Have:

  • Direct experience at, or competing against, a major player in the travel eSIM space
  • Prior experience in the travel space (OTAs, airlines, hospitality, or travel-commerce)
We offer you:
  • Remote b2b or on-site employment (Belarus-Moldova) work opportunity!
  • B2B Employment ($, gross).
  • Stable job with long-term growth perspective.
  • Competitive salary with annual performance review.
  • Really good hardware.
  • An exciting and challenging job with talented people around.
  • Continuous learning and career growth opportunities.
  • Compensation for professional training, seminars, and conferences.
  • Referral program - get rewarded for helping us grow the team with talented people.
  • Company-supported English classes to enhance your professional growth.

A few words about us:
