Job Description

Kioxia America Inc. is seeking an in-house attorney with experience representing companies on a variety of matters, including specifically compliance and HR matters. Reporting directly to the VP and General Counsel, this attorney will assist with and/or manage a broad spectrum of compliance, corporate and transactional legal work, supporting the sales, marketing, and planning teams, including interacting directly with relevant groups in our parent company in Japan.
Responsibilities

  • Support regulatory compliance, including ESG and trade-related matters.
  • Provide advice on HR-related matters and assist in drafting/revising policies/procedures/handbook.
  • Review collateral material for compliance with advertising laws and regulations.
  • Keep informed of new laws, regulations, and industry trends affecting the Company, and assisting with the development of policies and training as needed.
  • Assist with corporate governance activities and concerns.
  • Provide advice and counsel on corporate law.
  • Respond promptly to requests from internal clients, and summarize and communicate legal risks in a way that business people can understand that pragmatically balances risk with the Company's business objectives.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the company's products, services and business model.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years experience in legal practice, preferably with both law firm and in-house experience.
  • Native/bilingual proficiency or full professional proficiency in Japanese preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills and the capacity to simultaneously handle a variety of complex matters under deadline pressure.
  • Excellent written, verbal and analytical skills.
  • Ability to form strong working relationships with other employees and partners while maintaining firm adherence to proper legal standards.
  • Responsive and service-oriented attitude.
  • Strong work ethic with an attention to detail.
  • Sound business judgment and strategic thinking. Flexibility and an interest in working on a broad variety of legal matters in order to understand and advise the Company on legal implications of its business strategy.

Education

  • Law Degree from a nationally recognized law school and member of the California state bar or eligible to register under California'sRegistered In-House Counsel Program.

The expected salary for this position is$126,080.00 - $207,850.00.
